Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal met in 2005 while acting in an off-Broadway play. Years later, they described their bond in interviews with warmth and sibling-like teasing—and shared photographs of their time together on their own social accounts. The pictures offer glimpses across their careers, not a complete record of a private friendship.
How Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal met
Isaac and Pascal met in 2005 while performing in an off-Broadway play, according to Esquire and a later Disney Brasil article. Disney attributes Pascal’s account of the production to a Wired interview. In that recollection, Pascal said the actors earned $500 per week; that is his reported memory, not an independently verified pay record.

The meeting came before their later prominence on screen. In 2019, they appeared together in Triple Frontier, one of the public points of connection between the actors’ careers.
What they have said about their friendship
Shared background and ambition
In Esquire’s 2022 coverage, Pascal described the cultural familiarity he felt with Isaac and the common ambition that connected them: “We’re both children of Latin immigrants, so there’s sort of a cultural familiarity, then at the same time we’re both actors. We have the same dreams.”

He also spoke about how meaningful it can be to find support while pursuing an uncertain career: “It’s something very special because it can be a lonely journey when you’re out there going after—it sounds corny, but going after your dreams, and to find family along the way.”
Brotherly teasing
Isaac offered a more mischievous description in the same interview coverage, calling Pascal “the younger brother I never wanted.” Esquire also reported Isaac joking that Pascal was “obsessed with me,” “like a disease.” Pascal’s mock response appeared as the headline quote “I Don’t Care to Respond.” The exchange belongs to their playful interview banter, not a serious accusation.

How to read the pictures of them together
Disney’s 2023 account says the actors captured many moments in photographs they shared on their own social accounts. Those images can sit alongside editorial portraits, premiere photographs, interview appearances, and publicity images connected to their work. Each kind of picture documents a different public setting; together, they should not be presented as a continuous timeline of the friendship.
- Career-period images: place a photo in a period only when its original post, publication, or other reliable record establishes the date.
- Public appearances: identify the confirmed interview, premiere, or event rather than infer what the actors were discussing or feeling.
- Social photographs: credit the original account and verify the post’s date and context. A photograph appearing in a social post does not by itself establish permission to republish it.
Disney’s articles are official but promotional, while Esquire’s interview-based reporting is the stronger source for the attributed comments about their relationship. Neither establishes the full private history of their friendship. Captions should stick to verifiable details and credit the photographer or original source as appropriate.
