September 9, 2024: she announced chemotherapy was complete
Catherine announced that she had completed preventative chemotherapy and said she looked forward to a gradual return to public duties. That announcement marked a change from her June update; it did not provide a full account of her medical condition or set out a timetable for future appearances. January 14, 2025: remission and a hospital patronage
Catherine said she was in remission and remained focused on recovery. On the same date, she and Prince William were announced as joint patrons of the Royal Marsden Hospital. The announcement is a dated health update, not evidence of her current status in 2026. The Royal Marsden’s announcement describes the visit and patronage.
Does this show that she is preparing to be queen?
No formal queenship-preparation plan is established by these reports. They document Catherine’s own statements about treatment and recovery, along with public-role announcements. They do not describe a specific programme of preparation for becoming queen.

Prince William was identified as heir to the British throne in an Associated Press report on his return to public duties on April 18, 2024. That fact alone does not establish what duties Catherine currently undertakes or what preparation she may be doing. The AP report concerns William’s return to work, not a Catherine-led plan for queenship.
