EPCOT’s past includes rides, shows and even a pavilion that have closed or changed substantially. This list focuses on ten former experiences, while distinguishing a retired attraction from a pavilion that was reused or a ride that later received a new version. Some closure dates below come from a secondary chronology rather than Disney.
How to read this list
“No longer exist” is best understood here as “no longer operates in its former form.” A replacement may occupy the same site, and the building or pavilion may remain. For entries with a date from TouringPlans, that date is attributed to its closing-date list; it is not presented as an official Disney record.
Ten EPCOT attractions and experiences that have ended or changed
1. The original Journey into Imagination ride
The Journey into Imagination pavilion opened on October 1, 1982, and its ride followed on March 5, 1983, according to D23’s Future World history. Imagineers conceived the attraction as an exploration of imagination. The original ride is the relevant historical entry: Journey into Imagination later had other iterations, so its name continuing in some form does not mean the original version remained unchanged.
2. World of Motion
World of Motion explored the history of transportation in a ride-through attraction. D23 identifies Test Track as the attraction that took its place. That is a successor relationship, not evidence that the site stood empty after World of Motion closed; the source does not establish a reliable exact closing date.

3. Horizons
Horizons presented visions of possible futures. D23 identifies Mission: SPACE as the attraction that took its place. The change retired Horizons as an operating attraction, but the source does not establish an exact closure date.
4. Body Wars
Body Wars was a simulator attraction in the Wonders of Life pavilion. TouringPlans’ closing-date list reports January 1, 2007, as its permanent closing date. Treat that as a date reported by a secondary source, not as a Disney-confirmed final operating day.

- Crystal glass refrigerator magnet. Size: 50 cm * 45 cm.
- Select high -quality crystal glass. High -quality crystal glass makes the product brighter and more three -dimensional.
- Use 2mm soft magnetic. Thicker, more magnetic. And soft magnetic does not scratch the surface of the object.
- If you want to give gifts, I think our crystal refrigerator magnet will be a good choice.
- Crystal glass magnets are the best decorations for kitchen refrigerators or whiteboards.
5. The Wonders of Life pavilion
Wonders of Life was a pavilion, not a single ride. TouringPlans lists the pavilion as permanently closed and gives January 1, 2007, as its closing date. The pavilion’s closure should not be conflated with the history of each experience inside it: Body Wars, for example, was one component attraction.
6. Ellen’s Energy Adventure
This long-form energy-themed attraction combined a ride with show elements. TouringPlans lists August 14, 2017, as its closing date. A Disney March 2016 festival map provides dated evidence that it was still listed as an active attraction before that closure.

7. Maelstrom
Maelstrom was a boat ride in EPCOT’s Norway pavilion. TouringPlans lists October 6, 2014, as its closing date, while Disney’s November 2013 guide lists it among EPCOT attractions before it closed. Those dated records establish a before-and-after context; the closing date cited here remains TouringPlans’ secondary chronology.
8. Journey into YOUR Imagination
After the original Journey into Imagination ride, the attraction was reworked as Journey into YOUR Imagination. D23’s Future World history identifies it as a successor version. It is therefore a distinct former iteration, rather than a claim that the pavilion itself disappeared.

9. The original Journey into Imagination’s later replacement
D23 also identifies Journey into YOUR Imagination as the successor to the original ride. The original and the reworked attraction are different points in the attraction’s history, but this list does not treat the original’s retirement and its successor’s eventual end as independently documented closure events: the available source confirms the successor relationship, not a full chronology for every later version.
10. The original World of Motion experience
World of Motion belongs on a history of former EPCOT attractions because D23 records that Test Track took its place. This entry emphasizes the transition: the former ride ended as an operating attraction, while its physical site continued as part of the park’s attraction roster. The source cited above does not supply an exact closure date.

What these changes reveal about EPCOT’s history
The examples show different kinds of change: a ride can be replaced while its site remains in use, a pavilion can close as a whole, and a familiar attraction name can persist across substantially different versions. Disney’s dated guides establish that Maelstrom and Ellen’s Energy Adventure appeared on park materials before their reported closures; D23 supplies the documented successor relationships for World of Motion, Horizons and Journey into Imagination. The dates attributed to TouringPlans are useful chronology, but they are not all primary Disney records.
