The order is the guide’s displayed ranking—not a descending sort of its Tomatometer: the final entry, A Personal Journey With Martin Scorsese Through American Movies, has a higher critics’ score. The guide also includes documentaries and concert films alongside narrative features.
Rotten Tomatoes’ 26 Scorsese film entries
The table preserves Rotten Tomatoes’ displayed order. The Tomatometer represents critics’ scores; the Popcornmeter represents audience scores. Both are percentages, not ratings on a 10-point scale, and they are separate measures rather than ingredients in a combined score. Figures below are those displayed in the guide when accessed on October 8, 2026; scores can change as Rotten Tomatoes updates its reviews or data.

How to read the ranking and scores
The guide order is not the critics-score order
Rotten Tomatoes places The Last Waltz first with a 98% Tomatometer, while A Personal Journey With Martin Scorsese Through American Movies appears last despite its 100% Tomatometer. Treat the numbered positions as the guide’s editorial order, not as a mathematical ranking by either score.
Critics and audiences do not always line up
The two measures can tell different stories. Goodfellas is shown at 93% with critics and 97% with audiences. The Wolf of Wall Street has 79% and 83%, respectively, while Casino has 79% and 93%. Those gaps show differing score patterns; the percentages alone do not explain why critics and audiences responded differently.

What the 26 entries include
This is a list of the 26 films in Rotten Tomatoes’ guide, not a claim that Scorsese has exactly 26 directing credits or that this is an exhaustive, universally agreed filmography. The selection spans narrative features, music and concert documentaries, and a film-history documentary. The Last Waltz, Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese, and Shine a Light are documentary or concert-film entries; A Personal Journey With Martin Scorsese Through American Movies is also a documentary. That mix matters when comparing works with different formats and aims.
