Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on June 18, 2027, according to Sony. The studio has also reported an exclusive CinemaCon preview, while producer Christopher Miller says the film is being worked on in the edit room. Neither update guarantees the date will remain unchanged or means a public trailer is available.
When does Beyond the Spider-Verse come out?
Sony Pictures Animation lists the film for U.S. theaters on June 18, 2027, and Sony’s corporate release slate gives the same date. Sony’s slate warns that release dates and titles are subject to change, so June 18 is the current schedule, not a guaranteed opening date. Sony Pictures Animation’s film page and Sony’s FY26 first-quarter release slate both list the U.S. date.
The date is territory-specific. Sony’s CinemaCon report described the film as heading to theaters worldwide “next year” while specifying June 18 for the United States; Sony’s French page lists June 23, 2027, for France. The U.S. date should not be treated as a global release date. Sony’s CinemaCon announcement
What was shown at CinemaCon?
Sony says its filmmakers presented an exclusive peek at the final installment during CinemaCon 2026. The announcement does not describe the preview as publicly released footage, so CinemaCon attendees’ event preview should not be confused with a trailer available to watch online. Sony framed the movie as Miles Morales’s return for the final chapter of its Spider-Verse saga. Sony’s CinemaCon report

Is the trailer out?
The cited Sony announcements establish that an exclusive event preview was shown, but they do not establish that a public trailer has been released. An event-only peek is not the same as a public trailer; Sony’s announcement does not say that the footage can be watched outside CinemaCon.
What is the story about?
Sony’s official synopsis says Miles is hunted by Miguel O’Hara’s Spider Society and betrayed by his friends. He travels through the far reaches of time and space to find a way home, reunite with his family, and protect them. Sony calls the film the final chapter of the Spider-Verse saga. The studio has not provided a fuller plot outline in the cited materials. Sony Pictures Animation’s official synopsis

What does the production update actually tell us?
In July 2026, producer Christopher Miller told GamesRadar+ that, “We are deep, deep in it.” He said the team was working in the edit room and reviewing footage for IMAX, adding that the film was “a lot of movie, and a lot to do.” Those remarks indicate active post-production work; they are not a studio confirmation that the film is finished or that its scheduled date is locked.
