Kaitlyn Dever visited the set of Tim Allen’s sitcom Shifting Gears and surprised her former Last Man Standing co-star, TVLine reported on December 5, 2025. The reunion brought back their on-screen father-daughter connection, but the reported visit was not a guest appearance in a Shifting Gears episode.
What happened on the Shifting Gears set?
According to TVLine’s December 5, 2025 report, Dever made an unexpected visit while Allen was on the set’s kitchen scene. The show’s official Instagram account shared the reunion video: Dever surprises Allen, the studio audience reacts, and Allen hugs his former co-star.

Why it was a Last Man Standing reunion
Dever played Eve Baxter, the daughter of Allen’s character, Mike Baxter, on Last Man Standing. Their reunion on another Allen sitcom therefore brought back a familiar on-screen family pairing.
Was Kaitlyn Dever in a Shifting Gears episode?
The cited report describes a surprise set visit and reunion clip, not Dever appearing as a guest star in an episode. The video’s connection to Shifting Gears is its setting and the show’s official Instagram account sharing it; that alone does not establish an episode role.
