Thunderbolts* ultimately grossed $382,436,917 worldwide against a reported $180 million production budget—about 2.1 times that figure. A June 2, 2025 report had put the film at $369.5 million, but that report date does not establish the exact day its worldwide gross first passed $360 million. And gross divided by production budget is not the same as profit.
How much did Thunderbolts* make at the box office?
As of October 8, 2026, Box Office Mojo and The Numbers list the film’s final worldwide theatrical gross at $382,436,917. Box Office Mojo breaks that into $190,274,328 domestic and $192,162,589 international, a near-even split between the two markets. Box Office Mojo’s title record and The Numbers’ financial record report the same worldwide total.

The often-cited $369.5 million milestone comes from a ScreenRant report listed by IMDb News on June 2, 2025. That is a dated report figure, not the film’s final total. The June 2 report listing described the film as reaching the milestone just under a month into its theatrical run.
Did the worldwide gross double the reported production budget?
Yes, as a simple comparison of worldwide box-office gross with reported production budget. The Numbers lists a $180 million production budget. The June 2 milestone of $369.5 million was about 2.05 times that amount; the final $382,436,917 total is about 2.12 times it. These are gross-to-budget ratios, not measures of the studio’s profit.

- After being ensnared in a death trap, an unconventional team of antiheroes assembles and embarks on a dangerous mission. Forced to confront the darkest corners of their pasts, will the group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and prevail?
Ticket sales are not all studio revenue: theatrical receipts are shared through distribution and exhibition arrangements, and the production-budget figure does not account for every cost associated with releasing and marketing a film. The available figures do not establish a title-specific break-even point, so they cannot show from this ratio alone whether the film was profitable.
When did Thunderbolts* pass $360 million worldwide?
The precise crossing date is not established by the cited records. The Numbers gives May 2, 2025, as the U.S. wide-release date, while the $369.5 million milestone report was published June 2—exactly one calendar month later. The report date tells when the figure was reported, not the day the worldwide cumulative total first exceeded $360 million.

- Can this disparate group of antiheroes overcome their difficult pasts and form a real team capable of stopping the Void and saving the world?
The dated checkpoints illustrate the film’s progress, but they do not identify that crossing day:
- On May 11, the Associated Press reported Sunday studio estimates of $272.2 million worldwide after the second weekend. The AP report also quoted Comscore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian saying, “The holding power of this film harkens back to the heyday of Marvel.”
- On May 19, Marvel Japan reported $325.72 million worldwide after two weeks, citing Box Office Mojo. Marvel Japan’s update provides that dated checkpoint.
- The Numbers’ domestic ledger lists $171,899,206 through the weekend of May 23. That is a domestic cumulative figure, not a worldwide total, so it should not be compared directly with the AP or Marvel Japan worldwide amounts. The Numbers’ record also lists a $74,300,608 opening weekend.
How long did its theatrical run last?
The Numbers records an average theatrical run of 5.1 weeks per theater and a video release date of July 1, 2025. The average is a per-theater run measure, not the number of weeks the film played in every theater or a date for when its worldwide gross crossed a particular mark.
Thunderbolts* is Marvel Studios’ antihero team-up featuring Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker; D23 identifies Jake Schreier as director and Kevin Feige as producer. D23’s interview with Schreier provides that film context.
