Gyeongseong Creature Season 3 has not been confirmed by the official sources cited here. The post-credits footage Netflix linked to the show’s next chapter was a Season 1 teaser for Season 2, not evidence that Netflix ordered a third season.
What the post-credits scene confirms
Netflix’s Season 2 explainer describes the Season 1 finale’s post-credits moment: a tiny parasite enters Chae-ok, and her eyes open. Netflix also said that post-credit footage revealed Season 2’s move to contemporary Seoul. These official references connect the scene to the continuation that became Season 2; they do not announce another season. Netflix Tudum’s Season 2 explainer and Netflix’s announcement establish that distinction.

That leaves room for viewers to interpret the ending as a story hook or to speculate about what might happen next. But a narrative possibility is different from a Netflix renewal. The claim that Season 3 is “all but confirmed” goes beyond what the scene itself establishes.
How the story continued in Season 2
Season 2 shifted the story from Gyeongseong in 1945 to Seoul in 2024 and premiered on September 27, 2024, according to Netflix’s release announcement. The announcement lists Chung Dong-yoon and Jo Yeong-min as directors and Kang Eun-kyung as writer, with Park Seo-jun, Han So-hee, Lee Mu-saeng, and Bae Hyeon-seong among the cast.

The production history also helps explain why the series can feel like a continuous story: Yonhap reported in January 2024 that Seasons 1 and 2 were filmed simultaneously. That report is context about the two released seasons, not evidence that a third was ordered. Yonhap’s report covers the simultaneous filming; TIME’s Season 2 feature discusses the time jump and the director’s creative choices.

No Season 3 announcement appears in the official materials cited here. Netflix’s series page identifies Gyeongseong Creature as a Netflix title, but does not establish a third-season order. Netflix’s series page is the official viewing destination.
Rank #2
Accordingly, the reliable takeaway is limited: the Season 1 post-credits scene set up Season 2, which Netflix released in 2024. It may invite speculation about further story, but it does not confirm Season 3. The sources cited here do not establish whether Netflix has made a later announcement beyond the materials referenced above.
