A second-floor deck gives way during a white-coat party, sending a group of medical students to Grey Sloan. The interns have been kept out of the operating room, but the sudden influx of patients draws them into the response. Sophia’s spinal injury leaves room for hope
A wooden railing impales medical student Sophia, and she loses feeling in her right leg. Owen and Amelia operate to address the injury. Lucas argues against a more limited approach, and Owen urges Amelia to do more to protect Sophia’s spine. The operation goes well, leaving Sophia with a chance to continue toward the medical career she wants.
Eddie is found in crisis on the roof
Eddie leaves his hospital bed and is found near the edge of the roof. Simone and Blue recognize that he is in serious distress and stay with him, listening as he describes feeling overwhelmed by pressure and pain. Ben and Bailey also arrive to help. Eddie steps away safely; Blue tells him, “You’re not alone.”

Jo and Link face a pregnancy possibility, not an answer
Jo realizes her period is late. She and Link barely have time to process what that might mean before they are called to the emergency department. Jo finds a pregnancy test and says this is the worst possible time to consider having a baby, but the episode does not confirm whether she is pregnant.
Jules calls Winston out, and Gilbert’s fear reaches him
Before a cardiac ablation, Gilbert is so anxious that he is being held by a professional cuddler. Winston initially responds with impatience, and Jules challenges his attitude. When Gilbert panics on the way to surgery, Winston climbs onto the gurney to comfort him—a marked change from his first reaction.
