Spoilers for Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3, including the finale. The series never confirms that Omega is Force-sensitive. Its Tantiss plot raises the possibility through M-counts and Imperial experiments, but neither the finale nor the creators’ comments establish that Omega can use the Force. The twist is the ambiguity—and the story’s emphasis on the person Omega chooses to become.

Does Omega have the Force?

The canon-safe answer is that Omega’s Force sensitivity remains unconfirmed. In a May 1, 2024 interview with StarWars.com, executive producer and supervising director Brad Rau was asked whether Omega is strong with the Force. He replied, “Well, as we all know, the Force is in all living things. It surrounds us. It binds us. So that’s my answer.” Executive producer and head writer Jennifer Corbett added, “I would say for her character, it really doesn’t matter because she’s chosen who she wants to be.”

Those are deliberately noncommittal answers, not a confirmation that Omega is Force-sensitive. The interview leaves her status open rather than announcing a Jedi reveal or a specific Force ability.

What does Omega’s M-count mean?

The M-count clue belongs to the Tantiss storyline, where the Empire is holding children and conducting experiments. Rau distinguishes a possible high M-count from the ability to wield the Force: the children “may have a high M-count, but they are not trained in the ways of using the Force as we know it.”

  • Gift-Ready & Fun to Trade – Great for birthdays, holidays, party favors, or conventions—collect the full wave or trade with friends to complete the set.
  • An M-count is a clue, not a demonstrated power. In the story, it helps explain the Empire’s interest in the children; it does not by itself show that someone can use the Force.
  • Potential and control are different. Rau points to Jax’s unsuccessful attempt to escape as an example: a child may appear to have potential yet fail to wield the Force in that moment.
  • Omega’s own status is not settled by the interview. The creators do not give a direct yes-or-no answer about her, and the cited official discussion provides no numerical M-count for Omega.

So “M-count” and “Force-sensitive” should not be treated as interchangeable, and neither should be mistaken for evidence that Omega has already used a Force power.

What does the finale actually reveal about Omega?

The finale’s resolution is grounded in Omega’s choices and learned abilities. At Tantiss, she protects the other children and helps plan an escape. The creators describe her as drawing on the practical skills she learned from her brothers—not as relying on a newly revealed Force ability.

After the rescue, the surviving squad finds a peaceful life on Pabu. A time jump then shows an older Omega choosing her next path. In a separate May 1, 2024 StarWars.com finale interview, the creators frame the epilogue as a personal choice and a new chapter. It does not declare that she will become a Jedi or confirm that she has Force abilities.

Why the Force question stays open

The story can use the Empire’s interest in M-counts to create a genuine possibility without resolving it as Omega’s defining trait. Corbett’s answer points the viewer back to her agency: her character’s importance rests on who she chooses to be, whether or not she is Force-sensitive. That makes her future open while keeping the Season 3 finale’s payoff focused on her independence and growth.
