No. Season 4, Episode 4, “The Stunt Man,” does not reveal Bev Melon as Sazz Pataki’s killer. Bev appears armed at the site Sazz hoped to turn into a trampoline park, but the episode ends before her role or motive is explained.
What happens at the end of “The Stunt Man”?
Charles remembers that Sazz planned to build a trampoline park. He, Mabel, and Oliver travel to the location, where a sign marks the future site. Bev emerges from a nearby building holding a gun, turning Sazz’s dream into a threatening cliffhanger.
That is all the ending establishes about Bev: she is armed and present at the site. It does not show her confessing, identify her as the shooter, or explain why she is there. Her appearance invites suspicion, but it is not proof that she killed Sazz.
Why are Charles, Mabel, and Oliver at Sazz’s planned site?
The visit grows out of Charles’s grief and guilt. The trio follows a lead in Sazz’s social-media activity: a photograph places her at Concussions, a bar associated with stunt performers. There they meet Glen Stubbins, Ben Glenroy’s living stunt double, and learn Sazz had gone to the back room for help with pain.

Talk of Sazz’s plans to retire makes Charles reconsider how well he understood her. Remembering her trampoline-park ambition gives him a reason to visit the site with Mabel and Oliver. The location therefore connects her private plans to the murder investigation, while Bev’s arrival leaves the trio—and viewers—with a new question.
What does the episode establish about the stunt community?
Glen, played by Paul Rudd, is Ben Glenroy’s stunt double. The episode uses the stunt community to give the investigation a new lead and to show another part of Sazz’s life: she sought help for pain and had been thinking about retirement. In a TVLine interview published September 17, 2024, co-creator and showrunner John Hoffman described the premise behind introducing Glen: “We’re in a land of stunt doubles, so… who was Ben Glenroy’s stunt double?” Read the TVLine interview with John Hoffman.
