Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 currently has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer score from five critic reviews, the highest of the four seasons listed on the site. That is a small review sample, and the score can change as reviews are added.
What does the 100% score mean?
Rotten Tomatoes’ Season 4 page displays a 100% Tomatometer score from five critic reviews, as checked October 8, 2026. The Tomatometer measures the share of counted reviews classified as positive; 100% does not mean every critic gave the season a perfect numerical rating. The page includes positive reviews with scores such as 9/10 and 8/10. Rotten Tomatoes’ Season 4 page is a changing snapshot, not a final or fixed consensus.

Critics’ score and audience score are different measures
The Season 4 page separately shows an 88% Popcornmeter score from 100+ audience ratings. That is not part of the five-review critic score. For context, the series-level Popcornmeter is 84% from 1,000+ ratings, according to the series page; it should not be mistaken for Season 4’s audience figure.
What happens in Season 4?
The crime drama follows the McLusky family in Kingstown, Michigan, where incarceration is the dominant industry and the family navigates relationships among police, criminals, inmates, prison staff and politicians. The series’ premise engages with systemic racism, corruption and inequality, as described in Rotten Tomatoes’ Season 4 synopsis.
Paramount’s season summary centers on Mike’s authority being tested after the Russians’ departure leaves a power vacuum. New players and a gang war threaten his control, while a new warden and danger to people he loves add pressure. Season 4 premiered October 26, 2025, and concluded December 28, 2025, according to Paramount’s January 5, 2026 announcement.

Paramount announced on January 5, 2026, that the series would return for an eight-episode fifth and final season. The announcement establishes the show’s next chapter; it does not say the Rotten Tomatoes score caused the renewal.
