Composer Sam Haft said the team sometimes builds a song around the actor playing a role; in this case, the middle section featuring Stump was designed to showcase him, with a sound Playbill described as Fall Out Boy-like. That is a specific musical spotlight—not evidence by itself that Abel dominates the season or has a major season-long arc.
Who Patrick Stump plays—and what “gets to shine” means
Amazon’s Season 2 guide credits Patrick Stump, the Fall Out Boy musician, as Abel. Atlantic Records also includes Stump among the performers on the Season Two original soundtrack.
The phrase “gets to shine” has a concrete musical basis. Playbill reported composers Sam Haft and Andrew Underberg discussing a section of “Live to Live” featuring Stump’s character. Haft said, “Every once in a while, we will have a song where we will be so conscious of who the actor playing the role is, that the song really exists to let that actor shine.” The report characterized the section’s sound as Fall Out Boy-like. In other words, the spotlight is a songwriting decision that draws on Stump’s recognizable musical identity; it should not be read as proof of Abel’s overall prominence in the season.
What to know about the Season 2 soundtrack
Atlantic Records announced the official Hazbin Hotel: Season Two (Original Soundtrack) for November 19, 2025, describing it as a collection of new songs written and produced by Haft and Underberg. Its release announcement listed vinyl, CD, and cassette formats, alongside five exclusive vinyl variants. The first single, “Hazbin Guarantee (Trust Us),” was available when the label made its October 1, 2025 announcement.

Atlantic also cited chart figures for the Season One soundtrack: a No. 13 debut on the Billboard 200 in 2024 and 11 consecutive weeks on Billboard’s “Top Soundtracks” chart. Those figures concern Season One, not Season Two, and are label-reported; they should not be used to infer Season Two soundtrack performance.

Hazbin Hotel is an adult animated musical series created by Vivienne Medrano. A24 describes its premise as Charlie Morningstar trying to rehabilitate demons through a hotel. In that musical setting, Stump’s casting connects Abel to a performer known for rock vocals, while the composers’ reported comments explain how they made room for that quality in a particular song passage. The evidence supports a Stump-forward musical moment; it does not establish a broader character transformation.
