Spoilers for Marvel Knights: The World to Come #1. Marvel’s new Black Panther is Ketema, introduced in the comic as a successor to the mantle in a story set 25 years into the future. That is a comics development, not confirmation of a new Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The headline’s MCU theory cannot be identified or verified from the available excerpt of the article it refers to.
Who is Marvel’s new Black Panther?
Ketema is introduced in Marvel Knights: The World to Come #1 as a successor to Black Panther. The story jumps 25 years into Marvel’s fictional future; that time jump describes the comic’s premise, not a real-world prediction about when a character will appear on screen.

The reveal was reported by Joe Anthony Myrick at ScreenRant on June 5, 2025. The excerpt available through an IMDb news index identifies the issue and Ketema’s successor role, but does not provide further details about the character or the full story.
What does Ketema’s introduction mean for the MCU?
On its own, the comic introduces a character in Marvel’s comic continuity. It does not establish that Marvel Studios plans to introduce Ketema in a film or television series, cast the role, or adapt this future storyline for the MCU.

The ScreenRant headline connects the comic reveal to a “major MCU theory,” but the accessible excerpt ends before explaining the theory or the evidence behind it. Without that argument, naming a particular theory—or presenting it as likely or confirmed—would go beyond what the source establishes. A comics parallel can inspire speculation; it is not proof of an MCU announcement.
