Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 episode 17—overall episode 41, “Thunderclap, Part 2”—received a revised Blu-ray/DVD version with some added cuts and corrected footage. Which episode was revised?
It was Season 2 episode 17, episode 41 in the series’ overall numbering. English-language coverage calls it “Thunderclap, Part 2”; the official Japanese event notice identifies it as “霹靂-弐-.” The episode includes the Sukuna-versus-Mahoraga fight, a sequence often associated with discussion of the episode’s animation.

What changed in the Blu-ray/DVD version?
The official March 4, 2024 event announcement says episode 41 would screen in its Blu-ray/DVD version, with some additional cuts and corrected footage compared with the 2023 television broadcast and distribution version. The notice does not itemize the edits or describe the episode as a complete remake, so the supported description is that the home-video version contains additions and visual corrections.
How did the theatrical release work?
The revised episode was not released as a standalone feature. It screened with episodes 42, 43, and 44 in a program of about 89 minutes, according to the official announcement. The event ran from March 29 through April 4, 2024, at 30 theaters in Japan. It has ended; it was a limited Japanese screening, not an ongoing theatrical release.

Where does the home-video version fit?
The official Shibuya Incident Volume 4 product page lists a March 20, 2024 release on Blu-ray and DVD containing episodes 39–41, including episode 41’s revised version. The available information here does not establish current stock, disc region, subtitle language, or which version is currently offered by any streaming service. Check those details with a seller or platform before relying on a listing.

That phrase is a headline-style characterization, not a verified ranking. The cited announcements and contemporaneous coverage document revisions and the theatrical screening, but do not provide a poll, systematic comparison, or quantitative measure proving episode 17 was Season 2’s most controversial. It is more precise to say that the episode drew attention and later received added cuts and corrected footage.
