Does Dexter: Resurrection episode 10 stick the landing?
Mostly, yes. The finale resolves the season’s immediate conflict with Leon Prater and gives Dexter and Harrison a consequential moment of connection. That father-son payoff makes the season feel complete on its own terms, even though the episode keeps several story threads available for what comes next.
The distinction matters: emotional closure is not the same as closing every plot or ending the series. TV Guide’s Amber Dowling called the ending “satisfying” and “full-circle,” while Tell-Tale TV’s Mads Misasi praised its balance of wrapping up loose ends and leaving room for more. Other critics were less persuaded. Vulture described the episode as too clean to be fully satisfying, and The Ringer’s Ben Lindbergh and Miles Surrey discussed an ending that could feel anticlimactic.
That split reflects the finale’s central trade-off. Its familiar Dexter imagery and franchise callbacks can register as earned resonance, especially when they support the season’s father-son arc. For viewers who want a sharper break from the past or a more conclusive ending, the same familiarity and open threads may feel safe or overly tidy. The episode also asks viewers to keep rooting for Dexter despite his violence—a moral tension critics have approached differently, not a question the finale settles for everyone.

What happens in the Dexter: Resurrection finale?
Spoilers for Episode 10 follow.
Dexter and Harrison face the consequences of their choices and confront Leon Prater. Dexter is trapped in Prater’s vault; Harrison helps him escape, and the two turn the confrontation against Prater. Their cooperation gives the season’s central relationship a payoff: instead of remaining defined by estrangement, father and son act together.
The ending also emphasizes Dexter’s acceptance of his identity. At the same time, files and unresolved character threads leave future possibilities in view. The New York Ripper’s identity and other outcomes remain open, which is why the finale can feel like both a resolution and a launchpad.

Why the father-son payoff works
The finale’s strongest resolution is relational rather than procedural. The Prater conflict supplies the decisive action, but the emotional weight comes from Dexter and Harrison’s choices in that confrontation. Tell-Tale TV reads Dexter’s actions as evidence of growing care for Harrison; TV Guide frames the episode as a full-circle payoff to the franchise’s moral tension. Those are critical interpretations, but they help explain why viewers may find the ending satisfying even without every mystery being solved.
That emotional emphasis also avoids pretending Dexter has become morally uncomplicated. The finale offers a reason to care about his bond with Harrison while leaving the audience to reckon with the violence at the heart of the character. Whether that balance feels compelling or too forgiving is part of the episode’s debate.

Season ending or series finale?
“And Justice For All…” is the Season 1 finale, not the series finale. Amazon Prime Video lists it as the tenth and final episode of the season; Paramount’s catalog lists Season 1 as 10 episodes. Paramount Global Content lists Season 2’s premiere for October 30, 2026, a date that was still upcoming on October 8, 2026.
So the episode closes the Prater conflict and lands a meaningful beat for Dexter and Harrison, but it does not promise that their story—or the franchise—is over.

Paramount’s materials identify Paramount+ with SHOWTIME as the series’ home, and Rotten Tomatoes lists Paramount+ as a streaming option. Availability and plans depend on territory and can change, so check the current listing for your location. Amazon Prime Video lists the episode as a UHD digital purchase; that listing does not establish physical-media availability.
Episode metadata also differs by listing: Amazon shows a 48-minute runtime and a September 5, 2025 release date, while Rotten Tomatoes gives September 4, 2025. The safest general description is that the episode arrived in early September 2025; the one-day discrepancy is a platform or territory listing difference, not a date to generalize across services.
