What changed on October 3?
Episode 35 was a two-hour live eviction broadcast, scheduled for 8:00–10:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific Time. CBS’s episode guide describes the eviction as bringing the game to the Final Four. This is the extended Thursday broadcast; it is separate from the October 6 episode’s late start.
What time was Big Brother on October 6, and why so late?
CBS scheduled Episode 36 for 10:00–11:00 p.m. ET and 7:00–8:00 p.m. PT, following the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special. The advisory described the broadcast as live to both coasts, so the listed Eastern and Pacific start times are different local slots rather than one time to convert across the country.

The official episode guide dates Episode 34 to September 29, then Episodes 35 and 36 to October 3 and October 6. After the late Sunday episode, CBS listed another live eviction on Thursday, October 10, followed by Episode 38 on Friday, October 11, and the finale on October 13. The September 11 schedule advisory gives the October 10 episode a 8:00–9:00 p.m. ET/PT slot; its excerpt does not specify a time for October 11.
The advisory also listed The Summit’s premiere encore after Survivor on October 2 and its second episode after Survivor on October 9. Those were surrounding CBS schedule items, not Big Brother episodes.
