This is a historical snapshot, not a guide to what is available on Netflix today: catalogs vary by country and date.
What makes a show one of the best?
“Best” depends on what you want to watch. Netflix’s Top 10 reports show what attracted viewers during a particular reporting week; they do not establish quality or editorial merit. The recommendations below therefore distinguish documented audience attention from format and genre, rather than treating a chart position as a verdict.

Standouts with documented audience attention
Adolescence
A drama and one of the clearest audience standouts in Netflix’s April 2025 reports. Netflix said the series had reached 96.7 million views after three weeks in its April 1 report. In the April 15 report, it had 124 million cumulative views and ranked No. 2 on the English TV list for that reporting week with 9.7 million views. It added 6 million views in the reporting week covered by Netflix’s April 22 article. These are company-reported viewing figures, not independent measures of quality.
Black Mirror
The returning anthology series is a fit for viewers who prefer separate stories rather than one continuous plot. Netflix reported more than 7 million views for it in the reporting week covered by its April 15 article; in the following report, it ranked No. 1 on the English TV list with 10.6 million views for that week.

More options by genre and format
Netflix’s 2025 release guide describes several other series that broaden the mix. Because that guide was published in October 2025, its descriptions identify genre and premise, but do not prove that every title was available in every territory throughout April.

How to use this April 2025 snapshot
- Choose by format as well as genre: an anthology offers separate stories, while a returning drama or final season involves a continuing narrative.
- Use the reported Top 10 performance as a sign of audience attention during those specific weeks, not as proof that a series is universally the best choice.
- Check your country’s Netflix catalog before looking for a title. The April 2025 reports and later release guide do not establish present-day or universal availability.
The cited Netflix coverage documents eight titles, not an independently verified ranking of 30 shows. Expanding this into a 30-title “best” list would require recommendations and availability evidence beyond what those sources establish.
