Demon Slayer’s Season 4 finale is episode 8, “The Hashira Unite.” Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s meeting with Muzan Kibutsuji at the Ubuyashiki mansion turns into a cliffhanger: the Demon Slayer Corps is pulled into the Infinity Castle, and the fight against Muzan remains unresolved. The episode ends at the threshold of the decisive conflict—not with Muzan’s defeat.
What happens in the Demon Slayer Season 4 finale?
The finale is episode 8, titled “The Hashira Unite,” which closes the Hashira Training Arc. Its central setup is Kagaya Ubuyashiki finally meeting Muzan Kibutsuji at the Ubuyashiki mansion. Rather than concluding the confrontation there, the episode pivots sharply: Muzan draws the gathered Demon Slayer Corps into the Infinity Castle. Radio Times’ July 1, 2024 recap describes the transition as the episode’s cliffhanger and a direct setup for the next story segment (Radio Times recap).
What does the ending mean?
The ending is a handoff into the central conflict, not a resolution of it. The Corps has been brought into Muzan’s domain, changing the setting from the apparent face-off at the mansion to a battle on his ground. The title “The Hashira Unite” points to the Corps entering this danger together, but the episode does not show Muzan being defeated or settle the fight.
That distinction matters if you are watching only the anime: the finale leaves the outcome open. It does not provide the later events of the Infinity Castle story, so those are not part of this explanation.

What comes after the Hashira Training Arc?
ufotable announced on July 1, 2024 that the Infinity Castle adaptation would be a three-part theatrical film series (ufotable announcement). That is the announced format for the next story segment. The announcement itself does not establish a release schedule, so it should not be treated as a source for film dates.
When and where did episode 8 air?
Aniplex announced on June 23, 2024 that the finale would air in Japan on June 30 in an expanded 60-minute broadcast slot, with some regional exceptions (Aniplex announcement). That Japanese broadcast detail does not mean international services followed the same date or runtime.
