What is Silo about?
Silo follows thousands of people living in an underground silo in a ruined, toxic future. After the sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents die mysteriously, engineer Juliette begins investigating what the community has been told about its world. The concealed truths, suspicious death and tightly controlled society give the series its mystery-thriller feel, though Rotten Tomatoes classifies it as drama and science fiction rather than formally labeling it a thriller. Apple’s season 2 description introduces the setting and Ferguson’s role as Juliette.

What does the 92% Rotten Tomatoes score mean?
Rotten Tomatoes’ season 2 page showed a 92% Tomatometer from 53 critic reviews as of October 8, 2026. Its audience score, called the Popcornmeter, was 68%. The 92% is therefore a critics’ score for the second season, not a claim that 92% of viewers liked the show.
The same date’s series page also listed a 92% aggregate Tomatometer from 131 reviews and a 70% Popcornmeter. Season-by-season, its scores were 88% for season 1, 92% for season 2 and 96% for season 3. Rotten Tomatoes scores can change as reviews are added.

Why was Silo called a streaming hit?
In a June 14, 2023 renewal announcement, Apple said Silo had quickly become its “number one drama series” and that viewership was climbing week to week. That is Apple’s characterization during the first season, not a published viewer count or an independently verified chart position. The announcement does not establish a current 2026 streaming rank. Apple’s renewal release gives the platform’s original claim.
Where can you watch it, and how many seasons are there?
Apple TV is the listed streaming service. Rotten Tomatoes’ series listing showed seasons 1–3, while Apple announced seasons 3 and 4 in December 2024 and said the fourth season would complete the story. Apple described season 2 as ten episodes: it premiered globally on November 15, 2024, with weekly episodes through January 17, 2025. Apple’s renewal announcement confirms the planned four-season arc.

The series draws on Hugh Howey’s Wool trilogy: Wool (2011), Shift (2013) and Dust (2013). Wool began as a self-published short story in 2011. The books are the source material, but the series’ story should not be assumed to map one-to-one onto individual novels or seasons.
