Berlin Season 2, officially titled Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, premiered globally on Netflix on May 15, 2026. The eight-episode installment follows Berlin and his crew as they plan a new heist in Seville, with Pedro Alonso returning alongside the original gang and three newly announced cast members.
What is Berlin Season 2 about?
The season follows Berlin and his gang on a new heist in Seville. Netflix’s official synopsis gives the broad premise, but does not provide a reliable episode-by-episode account or reveal the ending. The story continues Berlin’s prequel timeline, before he takes the Royal Mint of Spain hostage in Money Heist, and follows Berlin and the Jewels of Paris. Netflix Tudum’s season overview describes the character’s period before the Royal Mint heist.

Creator Álex Pina described the story to Netflix as “a trip through the golden age of the character, when he robbed around Europe crazy in love.”

Pedro Alonso returns as Berlin, with the five principal gang members from the first season:

Netflix also named three new cast members and their roles:
- Inma Cuesta as Candela, an unpredictable, temperamental woman from Seville
- José Luis García-Pérez as Álvaro Hermoso de Medina, the eccentric, hedonistic Duke of Málaga
- Marta Nieto as Genoveva Dante, the mysterious, refined Duchess of Málaga
Alonso said Berlin’s return “marks a new chapter for his character,” adding that there is “something deeply human beneath the spectacle.”

Where does the story take place, and where was it filmed?
The announced heist takes place in Seville, and Netflix says the series is set primarily there. That is the story location, not the full list of production locations: filming took place in Madrid, Seville, San Sebastián, and other locations in Spain. Netflix Tudum’s overview distinguishes the Seville setting from the broader Spanish filming footprint.
How many episodes are in Season 2?
Netflix announced an eight-episode season. Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato created the series and are among its writers, alongside David Barrocal, Lorena G. Maldonado, and Itziar San Juan. Netflix named Albert Pintó, David Barrocal, and Jose Manuel Cravioto as directors. Netflix’s season announcement provides the episode count and production credits.

Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine premiered globally on Netflix on May 15, 2026. Netflix announced the date and reaffirmed it in its May 7, 2026 overview. The season has therefore already premiered.

Netflix reported that the first season of Berlin reached the Top 10 in 91 countries during its premiere week, stayed in the non-English TV Top 10 for seven consecutive weeks, and accumulated 348 million hours viewed and 53 million views in figures reported in February 2024. Netflix repeated those first-season figures in May 2026. These are Netflix-published promotional statistics about Season 1, not independent measurements or results for Season 2.
