During the launch window for Severance season two, Apple’s homepage featured at least two reported promotional panels: one styled like a product image of Lumon’s macrodata-refinement terminal, and another showing balloons bearing Mark Scout’s face. The panels turned familiar details of the show’s unsettling office world into visual jokes; they were a January 2025 campaign, not a current Apple.com feature.
What appeared on Apple’s homepage
Ben Lovejoy’s Jan. 17, 2025 report for 9to5Mac described at least two panel variants. One presented a Lumon macrodata-refinement terminal with the polish and framing of an Apple product shot. The other showed a room filling with balloons bearing the face of team leader Mark Scout.
The report establishes these two creative treatments, not a complete list of every panel or homepage rotation. It also does not establish how long the panels appeared, how many people saw them, or how the campaign performed.
Why the visual jokes fit Severance
The terminal as a product shot
Lumon’s macrodata-refinement work is deliberately opaque: employees sit at computer terminals sorting numbers without knowing what the task means. Presenting that equipment like a desirable consumer product borrowed the visual language of Apple advertising for a machine associated with Lumon’s rigid, mysterious workplace.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Mark’s face on the balloons
The balloons made a recognizable character image into office décor. The joke depends on the contrast between the show’s controlled corporate environment and a room crowded with an oversized, conspicuous likeness of Mark Scout. Both panels drew on the series’ imagery rather than explaining its plot.
How the panels fit the season-two launch
Apple’s official Severance press page lists Jan. 17, 2025, as season two’s release date. It describes Mark Scout as leading Lumon employees whose memories have been surgically divided between work and personal life.

The homepage panels followed a broader Lumon-themed promotion. On Jan. 16, MacRumors reported that Apple.com had a section dedicated to Lumon Industries and covered a public activation at Grand Central Terminal in New York. The panels were reported the next day, around the season premiere; the available reports do not provide a full schedule for the campaign.

Apple’s April 6, 2025 press release describes a later promotion at Bell Works in New Jersey, held April 5. Called an “Outdoor Retreat Team-Building Occurrence,” it transformed the venue into Lumon Industries and included recreated sets, a cast-and-creator panel hosted by Stephen Colbert, and a live performance of the theme by composer Theodore Shapiro. This was a separate event, not part of the January homepage-panel report.
