Anyone But You is a 2023 romantic comedy starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. Bea and Ben share a promising first date, but something turns their attraction cold; when they meet again at a destination wedding in Australia, they pretend to be a couple. The film’s leads are also known for Euphoria and Top Gun: Maverick, respectively—those titles identify the actors, not the genre or story of this movie.
What is Anyone But You about?
Sony Pictures describes Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell) as a pair whose first date sparks “fiery hot attraction,” before an unspecified event turns it “ice cold.” They are later thrown together at a destination wedding in Australia. The studio’s synopsis establishes the setup without specifying what happened after their date.
The wedding brings the former almost-couple back into each other’s orbit, where they pretend to be together. That premise makes the film a contemporary romantic comedy; the headline’s references to Euphoria and Top Gun: Maverick point to Sweeney and Powell’s other screen work, not to this film’s plot. Sony Pictures’ official film page identifies the movie and its leads.
Who made the film, and who is in the cast?

How is it connected to Shakespeare?
Screen NSW describes Anyone But You as based on William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. The play is the literary connection behind the modern romantic-comedy setup. A reader who wants to explore that source can look for a print edition of Much Ado About Nothing; no particular edition has been established as the film’s official or preferred edition.

Where was it filmed and set?
Screen NSW says the film was shot and largely set in Sydney, Australia. That places the destination-wedding premise in the same city that served as the production’s principal setting, rather than making the Australian location merely a passing backdrop. The agency’s production notice discusses the Sydney shoot and the Shakespeare connection.
What box-office figure has been reported?
Screen NSW reported that Anyone But You had grossed more than $200 million worldwide. The surfaced agency report does not provide a precise measurement date, so this should be read as an attributed milestone, not as a current box-office total. Screen NSW’s theatrical release report is the source for that figure.
