Seeing Alexandra Daddario imagined as Wonder Woman can make the fan cast feel instantly persuasive—but it is still a fan cast, not a casting announcement. The case for her as Diana is an interpretation of the image, while the available statements from Daddario and DC Studios do not establish that she has been offered or auditioned for the role.
Why the Daddario fan cast is compelling
A striking image can make an imagined casting choice feel inevitable. If the version of Diana in the fan art is the one you want to see—regal, formidable and unmistakably heroic—Daddario may look like a natural fit. That is the appeal of this particular fancast: it invites viewers to picture a new screen Wonder Woman before there is an official performer to picture.
But visual resemblance or the mood of an image cannot establish how an actor would play the character, or whether a studio is considering them. The reviewed reporting confirms that Daddario has been a subject of Wonder Woman fan art; it does not supply evidence about her auditioning, screen-test performance or suitability for the role. Calling her “perfect” is therefore a fan’s judgment about an imagined Diana, not a verified industry assessment.
Has Alexandra Daddario been cast as Wonder Woman?
No casting confirmation is established by the available reporting. A November 2025 ComicBookMovie.com report said Daddario was asked about fan art casting her as Wonder Woman or Catwoman. According to that report, she said she had not seen the fan art and added, “But of course, working with James Gunn would be amazing in any capacity.” That expresses general enthusiasm about working with Gunn; it is not an acceptance of a Wonder Woman role or confirmation of casting.

The DC Studios casting rumors reported in 2026 do not change that. In January, James Gunn said rumors of Batman and Wonder Woman auditions were false. He said a female character was being cast for Man of Tomorrow, while the guess that she was Wonder Woman was speculation, according to ComicBook.com. In October, Gunn also pushed back on the inference that Frank Grillo’s repost of a fan-made poster featuring Adria Arjona confirmed Arjona as Wonder Woman. GamesRadar+ reported his clarification. That episode concerned Arjona speculation, not Daddario’s candidacy; it is a reminder that fan art and social-media reposts are not reliable casting announcements.
What is established about Wonder Woman on screen
DC’s official page for the 2017 Wonder Woman describes Diana as a princess of the Amazons who leaves her island to confront a war, and lists Gal Gadot among the cast. It provides context for the previous live-action film, not confirmation of who will play a future DCU version. The official film information is available on DC’s Wonder Woman page.

That distinction matters: a fan cast can be persuasive without predicting a studio decision. Daddario can be an appealing choice for the Diana imagined in an image, while the identity, timing and details of any future DCU casting remain unconfirmed by these sources.
