No official definitive strongest-character ranking appears in the official sources reviewed, so the placements below are an editorial judgment based on demonstrated abilities and fights—not canon.
How this ranking weighs strength
“Strongest” in Dandadan is not a single stat. A character may dominate one opponent because a specific ability counters them, yet struggle against another. I weigh on-page combat results, the breadth and reliability of a character’s powers, durability and recovery, and how much the outcome depends on the matchup. I also distinguish a character’s strongest demonstrated form from what they can currently access or control. These are editorial criteria, not a Shueisha ranking scale.
Official character profiles provide useful context, but they do not resolve every present-day matchup. For instance, Shonen Jump+ describes Momo’s awakening of psychic powers, Seiko’s ability to set barriers, and Kashima Reiko as a yokai Seiko cannot defeat; that description is not a comprehensive current tier list. Read the official character profiles.
The strongest Dandadan characters, ranked
1. Momo Ayase
Momo takes the top spot for the combination of potent psychic ability, versatility, and tactical adaptation she has shown across the manga. Her powers let her influence and manipulate targets and objects at range, giving her options beyond simply trading blows. The official profile establishes that she awakens psychic powers after an alien abduction, though that summary does not quantify their limits.

Why she ranks first: Momo can apply her abilities in varied situations and has repeatedly remained a consequential fighter against supernatural and alien threats. What could change the call: her effectiveness depends on circumstances and control; unusual opponents or restrictions on using her powers can make a supposedly favorable fight much harder. This is a close editorial placement, not proof that she beats every character one-on-one.
2. Okarun (Ken Takakura)
Okarun’s connection to Turbo Granny gives him extraordinary speed and close-combat force, making him one of the most dangerous fighters when he can bring that power to bear. He has used his transformed abilities in high-pressure encounters, but those powers have not always been freely available or easy to sustain. His ranking reflects combat effectiveness, not the assumption that he is always at his peak.
Why he ranks here: speed can decide a fight before a slower opponent can respond, and Okarun has the experience to use it aggressively. Limitation: his access to and control of Turbo Granny’s power have changed over the story. A peak showing should not be mistaken for his permanent current state.

3. Kashima Reiko
Reiko’s threat is on a different scale from an ordinary physical opponent. The official Shonen Jump+ character page identifies her as a slit-mouthed woman yokai and says Seiko cannot defeat her, describing her as the strongest yokai in that profile’s context. That is strong evidence of her danger, but the page’s wording is not a claim that she outranks every character across all later chapters.
Why she ranks here: her supernatural presence and the official account of Seiko’s inability to defeat her put her among the manga’s most formidable beings. Uncertainty: the profile does not provide a complete account of her limits or settle how she fares against every later power and matchup.
4. Jiji (Evil Eye)
Jiji’s link to the Evil Eye grants access to a frightening supernatural power set, and the manga shows how dangerous that force can be when it takes over. The official character guide establishes the connection, while the ranking depends on what the story demonstrates about Jiji’s control and combat performance—not on the connection alone.

Why he ranks here: the Evil Eye gives Jiji serious offensive potential and makes him a major threat in close encounters. Limitation: control and circumstances matter. Jiji’s strongest moments should not automatically be treated as a stable, fully directed form that he can deploy at will in every fight.
5. Seiko Ayase
Seiko combines spiritual knowledge, experience, and practical defenses. Her official profile says she is a spiritual medium who can set barriers around her house. That barrier ability is significant, but it should not be inflated into a claim that she can create an equally effective defense in every location or situation.

6. Aira Shiratori
Aira’s power awakens through Acrobatic Silky’s aura and her contact with Okarun’s golden balls, according to the official character profile. Her supernatural transformation gives her real combat utility, and her athletic movement makes her a more dynamic opponent than a simple strength comparison suggests.
Why she ranks here: Aira has a strong supernatural toolkit and can contribute meaningfully in dangerous fights. Limitation: the circumstances behind her power and her experience with it matter; the profile’s origin summary by itself does not establish that she has the same consistency or ceiling as the characters above her.
7. Turbo Granny
Turbo Granny is the source of Okarun’s cursed power and is herself a formidable yokai. Her speed and supernatural nature make her an exceptional threat, but comparing her directly with characters whose abilities have changed or developed over the manga is difficult. The ranking considers her own demonstrated danger rather than treating every power Okarun has wielded as a feat she personally performed in the same circumstances.

Why she ranks here: her curse is potent enough to transform the story’s fights and make Okarun’s speed a defining advantage. Limitation: her role and access to power are not equivalent to Okarun’s combat record, and the official popularity poll’s placement of Turbo Granny says nothing about her fighting rank.

Shueisha’s first official character poll measures reader preference, not combat ability. In its 2024 results, Ken Takakura (Okarun) received 38,699 votes, Momo Ayase received 25,763, and Turbo Granny received 22,920. Those figures are poll votes—not power scores—and should not be used to rank fighters. See the official popularity-poll results.
What could change the ranking
The closest calls are Momo versus Okarun at the top, and Reiko versus the strongest fighters whose later abilities are not captured by the official character-page summary. Powers in Dandadan are unusually matchup-dependent: speed, psychic control, barriers, possession, and supernatural durability do not produce a universal answer to every opponent. New chapters can also change what counts as a character’s current form, so the order should be revisited as the manga adds feats or clarifies ability limits.
