A reported cookie-dough package offered an early glimpse of Yoshi and Bowser Jr. branding for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. At the time, Bowser Jr. had not been confirmed for the film. Nintendo later confirmed both characters in official movie announcements—though that later confirmation does not prove every detail in the earlier packaging report was authentic.
What did the reported merchandise leak show?
In November 2025, Meristation/AS reported that a cookie-dough package branded for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie appeared to show Yoshi and a Bowser Jr. face painted on the back. The report described Bowser Jr. as unconfirmed for the movie at that point. Read the November 2025 report.
The packaging was a reported clue, not an official character announcement. Nintendo’s later confirmation of Yoshi and Bowser Jr. supports the characters’ place in the film, but does not independently authenticate the package image or every interpretation of it.
How Nintendo later confirmed Yoshi and Bowser Jr.
Nintendo’s January 25, 2026 announcement revealed Yoshi’s first look and named Donald Glover as Yoshi’s voice actor and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.’s. The announcement moved the US and many additional markets’ release date to April 1, 2026; Japan’s date was April 24, with select territories releasing through April. Nintendo’s announcement and its Bowser Jr. confirmation provide the official record.

What earlier toy-line reports add
A February 2026 Nintendo Life report described Jakks Pacific’s initial lineup, including 1.5-inch and 5-inch figures, plush, the Yoshi Egg Playset, and other playsets. Its launch prices are historical secondary reporting, not current prices. A May 2026 report described later-announced products including Chomping Wonder Bowser Jr., Mario Riding Yoshi, and Yoshi/Bowser Jr. vehicles; those announcements alone do not establish that the products are in stock.
