The Rolling Stones have no confirmed 2026 tour. A proposed UK and European stadium run was reported as called off before it was officially announced, so this was not a cancellation of ticketed dates. The band’s members have left the door open to touring later, but no future dates or cities are confirmed. For now, their clearest next step is music: the Stones released their 14-track album Foreign Tongues on July 10, 2026.
What happened to the reported 2026 tour?
In December 2025, Variety reported that plans for a UK and European stadium tour had been called off. The report also said the tour had never been officially announced. That distinction matters: the available reporting describes a shelved plan, not a public itinerary with tickets on sale that was later canceled.
Variety attributed the decision in part to Keith Richards being unable to commit to the demands of the proposed run. Some particulars—including the reported four-month duration and reluctance to take on a large stadium tour—came from unnamed sources. This is reported background, not an explanation issued by the band.
Why was it called off?
The reported explanation centers on Richards’ ability to commit to a demanding stadium run, but it should not be treated as a confirmed, complete account. Mick Jagger separately discussed logistical difficulties involving venues and travel, as well as existing commitments affecting offers. Those remarks provide context about touring obstacles; they do not establish a single official reason for the reported plan falling through.

No on-record statement from the band explaining the decision to drop the proposed 2026 dates appears in the cited coverage. The comments from Jagger, Richards and Ronnie Wood about possible future tours are not explanations of that decision.
Will the Rolling Stones tour in 2026 or 2027?
Based on the members’ later comments, fans should not expect a 2026 tour. Speaking to BBC Radio 2, Jagger said, “I’d love to go on tour,” and “I can’t wait,” but added, “I don’t think it’s going to be this year. But hopefully it’s going to be as soon as possible.” Rolling Stone UK reported his comments.

Richards, speaking to the Associated Press about touring, said: “We can talk next year. At the moment, we’re just sort of saying, we’ve finished the record… [and we’re] considering what to do after. Pretty soon, but not this year.” That leaves open the possibility of a later return; it is not a 2027 announcement.
Wood expressed a similar hope in an interview with Louder: “If the Stones can tour next year, let’s do it. That’s our attitude.” He also acknowledged uncertainty about Richards’ arthritis: “Anything’s possible. We just, you know, toss a coin and see how it lands.” Taken together, the remarks show interest, not a commitment. No dates, cities, ticket sales or guaranteed 2027 tour have been confirmed.

What are the Rolling Stones doing now?
The band’s confirmed next chapter is a record rather than a tour. Universal Music announced Foreign Tongues as a 14-track album on May 5, 2026, and set its release for July 10. The label also announced a physical release for the lead single, “In The Stars.” Universal Music Canada’s announcement confirms those details; it does not establish a tour plan or specify album formats.
The album’s release is a concrete sign of current musical activity, but it should not be read as evidence that live dates are imminent. The band has not announced an official farewell, either.
