Why the bird words are a trap
DODO, SWAN, GOOSE, and FOWL may look like a natural bird group, but they belong to three different categories in this puzzle: DODO and GOOSE are in “Silly person,” SWAN is in “Kinds of songs,” and FOWL is in the purple sound-alike group. Check whether a tempting set fits a precise shared connection before submitting it.

How NYT Connections works
The New York Times Help Center describes Connections as a 16-word puzzle in which players find four groups of four sharing a connection. Yellow is the easiest group and purple the trickiest. The daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone. Ordinary play is free on NYT platforms, while access to the full archive is limited to All Access and Games subscribers.
