Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992) were announced for a one-night U.S. theatrical engagement on August 25, 2025, at more than 160 Dolby Cinema locations at AMC Theatres. That date has passed; the announcement does not confirm a later rerelease or current ticket availability.
What was the rerelease date?
Dolby and Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group announced the event on August 1, 2025. The two films were scheduled to screen on August 25, 2025, for one night only. Tickets went on sale August 1, according to the announcement. Dolby’s announcement described the engagement as exclusive to participating Dolby Cinema locations at AMC Theatres in the United States.

The announcement named more than 160 locations, but it does not establish that any screenings are still available or that the films have returned to theaters since that date.

What was different about the announced presentations?
Dolby and Warner Bros. said the films would be presented with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for the first time. In the announcement’s description, Dolby Vision brings deeper blacks, sharper contrast, and more vivid colors, while Dolby Atmos adds depth and dimensionality to the soundscape. Those are the announcement’s descriptions of the formats, not independent measurements of these screenings.
Burton said he had not watched the films since making them and that seeing them again “with this level of clarity, beauty, color, and sound felt really new and exciting.”
