Kimberley Nix, a Canadian physician and social media creator who shared her experience living with metastatic sarcoma, died at 31 in May 2024. In a farewell video posted before her death, she told viewers she had “passed away peacefully,” reflected on the life she had lived and thanked the community that had followed her story.
Who was Kimberley Nix?
Nix was a Canadian doctor who also built an audience on TikTok and Instagram by discussing her experience with metastatic sarcoma. Reports place her in Calgary and say she was diagnosed at 28, during the third and final year of her internal medicine core residency. The Independent and Entertainment Tonight reported her death at 31 in May 2024.
What did Kimberley Nix say in her final TikTok?
The Independent reported that Nix’s final post appeared on 8 May 2024. The video used a “get ready with me” format, but its central message was a farewell. Addressing viewers, she began: “Hello followers, if you’re seeing this message I have passed away peacefully,”
She described her life with gratitude: “I had a beautiful life,” she told her viewers. “And I’m so proud of it.” She also spoke about the grief of leaving her partner: “The most beautiful love and my only sadness in dying is knowing that we didn’t get to grow old together,” she said in the video. “Everything else is totally bearable, because that is the only thing that really matters.” These quotations are reproduced as The Independent attributed them to the video.

Why did she share her sarcoma experience?
Nix used her accounts to share both information about sarcoma and what the illness was like for her. In the farewell video, she introduced the account to people who might be encountering it for the first time as a place to find sarcoma facts and her lived experience. She thanked those who had supported her and encouraged viewers to support sarcoma research. The reports do not establish that a donation link mentioned or associated with her accounts remains active.
What is known—and not known—about her diagnosis?
Sarcoma is a broad group of cancers that begin in bones or soft tissues, including tissues such as muscle, fat, blood vessels, nerves and tendons. The Independent attributed this general description to Mayo Clinic. It does not establish Nix’s exact pathology, treatment history or medical cause of death. A subtype should not be treated as confirmed based only on social-media hashtags or secondary reporting.
