What were the allegations?
Police had registered a case over alleged possession of the cub and rifle, according to Dawn. The report said police arrested Butt and later released him on personal surety pending his undertaking to appear before the magistrate. It also reported that the cub had reportedly been gifted to him at his wedding. These accounts do not establish that the alleged possession was proven.
Does the 2024 case have a final outcome?
The available reporting establishes the bail grant, but not the final disposition of the arms-possession case. A grant of post-arrest bail is not a finding of guilt or proof that the case has concluded.

Are later bail reports about the same case?
No. Later reports concern a separate case about alleged harm to religious feelings. The News reported interim pre-arrest bail in that matter in December 2025 (The News, December 20, 2025). Dawn reported in April 2026 that a court recalled interim bail in that separate matter after rejecting an application to excuse Butt’s absence (Dawn, April 25, 2026). Neither report establishes the status or outcome of the 2024 arms-possession case.
