The final trailer does not confirm that any Thunderbolts character dies. It presents Sentry as an overwhelming threat and teases whether the fractured group can stand together, but an ominous scene or a character’s absence from a shot is not proof of a death. The trailer-era answer is therefore unknown; an answer about the completed film would be a separate spoiler.
What the final trailer actually tells us
Marvel Japan’s April 28, 2025 final-trailer announcement frames the Avengers as absent and Sentry as a danger the team cannot face alone. Its synopsis emphasizes the consequences of the characters’ pasts and the possibility that they can stand together. It does not name a fatality or say that anyone is killed.
That framing raises the stakes without resolving who survives. The trailer may encourage viewers to fear for the group, but suspense is not confirmation.
Which heroes are at risk?
Disney’s official film listing identifies the core team as Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker. The final-trailer synopsis does not single out any one of them as doomed, so there is no evidence-based way to name a likely death from the trailer alone.

The same official listing describes the group as caught in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and asks whether they will fall apart or unite. That is the film’s setup, not a death announcement.
Why the trailer feels like a death tease
The team is divided, the threat looks overwhelming, and several members have violent pasts. Those elements make danger feel credible, but they cannot establish that a specific character dies. A brief disappearance, a perilous image or a cut away at a tense moment should not be treated as a confirmed outcome.

Director Jake Schreier described the story in terms of connection rather than a simple heroes-versus-villains divide. In a May 2, 2025 D23 interview, he said: “It’s about being in a place and how you get out of it; in this world it’s really about saving yourself and saving each other.” That speaks to the group’s emotional arc, not to whether anyone survives.

Disney’s U.S. listing gives the film a May 2, 2025 release date, a PG-13 rating and a runtime of 2h 6min. It also provides Blu-ray and Disney+ viewing information for readers who want to see the story itself.
