For the first time in its history, the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival chose three models to front its campaign: Tegan Desmond, Stirling Caiulo and Michaela Bennett. The announcement was published on 4 June 2017, ahead of a festival scheduled for 7–17 September that year.
Who fronted the campaign?
The selected models brought different backgrounds to the campaign. PerthNow’s 4 June 2017 report described Desmond as an established high-fashion model with international experience, Caiulo as a model who also worked in transport, and Bennett as a student who was new to modeling.
The ages reported at the time were 22 for Desmond, 25 for Caiulo and 17 for Bennett. These are details from the 2017 announcement, not current ages.
How the campaign was created
Photographer Penny Lane shot the campaign, and Teagan Sewell styled it. Festival founder Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan described the concept as “bold and inspired by technology.” The report also characterized the imagery as futuristic.

What the selected models said
Desmond said, “I’m super excited to be involved.” Caiulo recalled being surprised by the selection: “I was in total shock when they told me as I had been led to believe it was just a shoot.” Bennett said it “felt amazing” to be selected.

PerthNow published the announcement on 4 June 2017 and reported that the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival would run from 7–17 September 2017. Those dates describe the event schedule announced at the time, not an upcoming festival listing.
