The Spring 2025 Crunchyroll anime behind the “next Solo Leveling” comparison is The Beginning After the End (TBATE). It shares a broad appeal with other fantasy adaptations, but the comparison is a prediction—not proof that it has matched Solo Leveling in audience, reception or cultural impact. TBATE’s first season premiered on Crunchyroll on April 2, 2025; its second season began airing in Japan in April 2026.
What is The Beginning After the End about?
TBATE follows King Grey, who dies and is reborn as Arthur Leywin on the magical continent of Dicathen. As Arthur grows up, he brings the experience and judgment of his former life to a new world of magic. Crunchyroll’s synopsis frames his second life as a chance to correct mistakes from the past. That reincarnation premise gives the series a clear fantasy hook without making its story identical to Solo Leveling.
Why compare it with Solo Leveling?
The comparison makes sense as a shorthand for the potential of a fantasy adaptation built on an established source property. Both titles can attract viewers drawn to heightened fantasy worlds and protagonists facing a second chance or a steep personal journey. But “the next” is an expectation, not a measured result: the available figures do not provide a matched comparison of anime viewership, audience reception or commercial performance.
TurtleMe’s official site reports nearly 62 million worldwide views and more than $500,000 per month in Tapas webtoon revenue. The site does not make the measurement date clear; these are creator-site claims about the webtoon, not current anime-viewership figures. They cannot establish that TBATE has caught up with or surpassed Solo Leveling.

What the “next Solo Leveling” label does—and doesn’t—tell you
It identifies the kind of breakout potential some viewers may see in a fantasy adaptation, but it does not settle whether TBATE has achieved comparable success. A fair comparison would need dated, like-for-like evidence for both series—such as audience measurements over the same period or comparable reception data. The available TBATE view and revenue claims concern its webtoon and lack a clear measurement date, while no corresponding Solo Leveling figures are established here.
The grounded case for watching is more specific: TBATE offers a former king reborn into a magical world, a second-life premise, and an adaptation with a second season already underway in Japan. Whether it earns the same level of attention as Solo Leveling remains a separate question.
