For the strongest November 2023 picks, start with Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix, Invincible Season 2 on Prime Video, and Hulu’s mystery A Murder at the End of the World. The list below covers notable U.S. premieres and returning seasons across the major services featured in contemporary release guides. “Best” is an editorial recommendation, not a universal ranking—and this is a historical release snapshot, not a guide to what is streaming now.
How to use this November 2023 guide
Each pick is labeled as either a new series or a returning season, with a note about the audience it may suit. Premiere dates refer to the U.S. November 2023 schedule. Streaming catalogs change, and these dates do not establish present-day availability. Disney+ says its preview is U.S.-focused and that library availability varies by region and may change: Disney+’s November 2023 preview.
The major services represented in Rotten Tomatoes’ November 1 guide were Netflix, Prime Video and Freevee, Hulu, Peacock, Max, Disney+, Paramount+, and Apple TV+: Rotten Tomatoes’ November streaming guide. The recommendations below focus on the titles specifically supported by the cited coverage; they are not a claim that every service had an equally strong slate.
Netflix: Blue Eye Samurai (new series)
Premiering November 3, this animated action series is a good fit for viewers looking for adult-oriented animation and highly stylized action. TV Guide’s release calendar also lists several other notable Netflix options: the limited series All the Light We Cannot See (November 2), Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (November 17), and reality competition Squid Game: The Challenge (November 22). The Crown returned with Season 6 Part 1 on November 16. See the TV Guide November 2023 TV schedule and Rotten Tomatoes’ recommendations.

Prime Video: Invincible Season 2 (returning series)
The animated superhero series returned November 3, making it the strongest genre-focused recommendation in Rotten Tomatoes’ November guide. It adapts Robert Kirkman’s comic-book series, as TV Guide notes in its discussion of the season: TV Guide on Invincible Season 2. Kirkman told TV Guide, “Episode 4 of Season 2 is a very obvious midseason finale,” and added, “People are going to need time to recover from that episode.”
Hulu: A Murder at the End of the World (new limited series)
This seven-episode mystery follows Darby Hart, an amateur sleuth and hacker invited to a remote retreat hosted by a reclusive billionaire. It premiered November 14 with two episodes, then continued weekly, according to Hulu’s November 2023 schedule. It suits viewers who want a contained mystery with technology, enterprise, and climate concerns in the mix; TIME also included the series in its November coverage: TIME’s November 2023 TV picks.

Other Hulu options
- Black Cake, a family saga, was listed for November 1 on Hulu’s schedule.
- Obituary, an Irish crime dark comedy about a newspaper obituary writer who begins killing people, offers a more offbeat alternative. TIME included it among the month’s notable shows.
- Fargo Year 5 was also listed on Hulu’s November schedule.
Max: Rap Sh!t Season 2 or Julia Season 2 (returning series)
TV Guide described November as a relatively light month for Max and identified these returning seasons as the key highlights. Choose Rap Sh!t if you want a comedy series, or Julia for a period-drama option. The new dark comedy Bookie arrived at the end of the month, but the cited coverage does not support treating November as a deep slate of new Max series. See TV Guide’s November schedule.
Apple TV+: Monarch: Legacy of Monsters or The Buccaneers (new series)
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Premiering November 17, Monarch is the clearest pick for viewers drawn to the MonsterVerse franchise and a story featuring Kurt Russell. Rotten Tomatoes’ November guide displayed an 86% Tomatometer for the series at that time; that is a historical critics’ review aggregate, not an audience score or a timeless measure of quality. See Rotten Tomatoes’ guide.

The Buccaneers
This period drama premiered November 8 and is the alternative for viewers who would rather watch a new costume drama than a franchise series. Its date appears in TV Guide’s November release calendar.
Paramount+: Lawmen: Bass Reeves (new limited series)
This Western drama stars David Oyelowo as Bass Reeves, with Taylor Sheridan as executive producer. Contemporary coverage listed its premiere for November 5, making it a natural choice for viewers seeking a historical Western rather than animation, fantasy, or contemporary mystery. The date is included in TV Guide’s November calendar.

Peacock: no standout established by the cited coverage
Peacock appeared in the broad November streaming guide, but the cited material does not establish a specific series as a strong recommendation for the service. Rather than present a weaker pick as a standout, this guide leaves the slot open. The coverage confirms service scope, not a Peacock title recommendation: Rotten Tomatoes’ November streaming guide.
Two distinctive alternatives
- The Curse is a scripted satire that turns toward psychological thriller, according to TIME’s November coverage. It may suit viewers seeking tonal unease over a familiar franchise premise.
- Obituary, listed above as a Hulu alternative, is another option for viewers interested in an unusual blend of crime and dark comedy.
TIME’s coverage of these titles and A Murder at the End of the World is available at its November 2023 TV picks.
What the November critic scores do—and do not—tell you
Rotten Tomatoes’ November guide displayed contemporaneous Tomatometer figures including 100% for Invincible Season 2, 54% for The Crown Season 6, and 86% for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. These were critics’ review aggregates as shown in that guide, not audience ratings, guarantees of personal enjoyment, or permanent rankings. The recommendation above rests on genre, novelty, and fit for different viewers rather than treating a single score as proof of what everyone should watch. Source: Rotten Tomatoes, November 1, 2023.
