Pruitt Taylor Vince plays Jonathan “Pa” Kent in James Gunn’s Superman (2025). The The Walking Dead connection is a prior television credit: TheWrap included the series among Vince’s TV credits when it reported his casting in April 2024.
Which actor from The Walking Dead plays Jonathan Kent?
It is Pruitt Taylor Vince, a veteran character actor. TheWrap reported on April 16, 2024, that Vince had been cast as Jonathan Kent and listed The Walking Dead among his television credits in its casting report.
That report was the original casting announcement, not the sole confirmation. DC’s official film page includes Vince in the cast, and DC’s official trailer commentary identifies him as Jonathan Kent.
Who is Jonathan Kent in this film?
Jonathan Kent, often called Pa Kent, is Superman’s adoptive father. Vince’s casting places him in the role for Gunn’s Superman, which DC lists as written and directed by Gunn. DC describes this version of the hero as “driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”
