In an interview with Elite Daily published September 11, 2024, Taylor said becoming pregnant led her to rush into marriage. She explained, “We didn’t build a steady foundation before we committed to each other, and I think the marriage ended because of that.”
She also described the relationship as “a very toxic, unhappy relationship.” Taylor framed divorce as preferable to remaining in a relationship where she was unhappy, saying, “I would much rather be divorced with two kids than be in a relationship where I’m unhappy.”
How did faith-community expectations factor into her account?
In a later interview with iHeart, published November 11, 2025, Taylor said the pregnancy came before the marriage and that they felt they should marry because sex before marriage was not expected, especially in the church. Looking back, she said they might instead have continued dating or become engaged. The interview transcript is automatically generated, and iHeart cautions that it may not be completely accurate; the edited 2024 interview is the better source for Taylor’s exact wording.

When did the divorce become final?
Taylor said in the 2025 iHeart interview that the divorce was finalized in May 2025. Earlier, in a TV Insider interview published September 8, 2024, she said she had been separated from her former husband for about three months when filming began.

What the public account does—and does not—establish
The interviews establish Taylor’s personal explanation: pregnancy contributed to a rushed marriage, she believes they lacked a steady foundation, and she described the relationship as unhappy and toxic. They do not establish an independently verified, exclusive cause for the divorce. Nothing in these accounts supports claims about abuse, infidelity, a court finding, or her former partner’s motives.
