No confirmed WWE announcement backed the rumor that The Rock would appear at Clash in Paris. The speculation followed reports that he posted an Instagram video from Venice on August 31, 2025, the day of the event. WWE’s official event record does not list him as an appearance.
What sparked the Clash in Paris rumor?
Contemporary reports said a video posted to The Rock’s Instagram showed him in Venice, Italy, on August 31, 2025. One report said he described visiting Venice as a dream. Fans connected his reported location in Europe with that day’s WWE event in Paris and wondered whether he might make a surprise appearance. The social post itself was not independently verified in the reviewed reporting, so its details should be attributed to those reports rather than treated as first-hand confirmation. [c003]

What happened at Clash in Paris?

The event has since taken place. WWE’s official results page lists the show’s matches and results but does not list The Rock as an appearance. The precise conclusion supported by that record is that WWE’s published event results do not show him appearing; the page’s omission alone does not establish whether he was elsewhere at the venue. - Reported: Contemporary coverage identified a Venice Instagram video as the source of the speculation. [c003] [c004]
- Inferred by fans: That being in Europe on the event date might mean The Rock could travel to Paris for a surprise appearance.
- Not confirmed: The reviewed sources contain no verified statement from The Rock or WWE confirming a planned Clash in Paris appearance. [c005]
- Recorded by WWE: The official event results do not list him among the appearances or results. [c001]
Why the date matters
Because the rumor circulated before the event, reports that his appearance was unknown described uncertainty at the time—not proof that WWE intended to bring him back. With the show now over, the official event record gives the clearest outcome available: it does not list The Rock as appearing. [c003]
WWE said the 2025 event streamed on Peacock in the United States and Netflix internationally. Those were distribution details for that past show, not an indication that a live stream or tickets remain available. [c002]
