No: the Griffin family’s house is fictional, and its in-show address, 31 Spooner Street, is in the invented Rhode Island town of Quahog. What makes the setting feel real is the show’s use of recognizable Providence skyline buildings behind the house—not evidence of a real Griffin residence.
Is 31 Spooner Street a real address?
It is the Griffin home’s address in the show, not a verified address for the animated house. Quahog and Spooner Street are fictional, according to the community-maintained Family Guy Wiki’s Quahog reference. A real-world address with the same street number and name is not proof that the cartoon home exists there, and it should not be used to identify or visit a private residence.
The same reference suggests that the skyline behind Spooner Street points to a west-of-downtown Providence setting. That is an interpretation of the animation, not a confirmed, consistent map of Quahog: clues across episodes do not always fit together geographically.
Which real places appear behind the fictional house?
The Boston Globe identified three Providence buildings visible in the background behind Spooner Street: One Financial Plaza, 50 Kennedy Plaza, and the 1927 Bank of America Tower. Their recognizable outlines give the fictional neighborhood a real Rhode Island visual backdrop, but do not establish that the Griffin home was modeled on a real property. The Globe’s 2012 report also discusses other Rhode Island places and cultural references associated with the series, including McCoy Stadium, the Modern Diner, the Breakers, and Del’s Lemonade. Those references add regional texture; they do not mean every location in the cartoon is a literal depiction.

Why did Family Guy invent Quahog?
The show draws on Rhode Island, but uses a made-up town. In an account attributed to producer and writer Danny Smith, the creators were asked to make the series specific to a town or region, and he argued for Rhode Island. Smith also explained that he wanted the town itself to be fictional after a joke about Pawtucket had been taken seriously. The Family Guy Wiki attributes this explanation to Smith and links to an interview with Frank O. Comedy; it supports the regional-setting context, not a claim that the house has a real-world model.
Does Peter say the house is in Burbank?
Yes, as a joke. In “You Can’t Handle the Booth!”, Peter says during mock DVD commentary: “Lot of people don’t know this, but that house is actually in Burbank. People keep stealing their mailbox.” Apple TV lists the episode as season 17, episode 16, with a US release date of March 24, 2019. Apple TV’s episode listing identifies the episode; the quoted dialogue is recorded in a secondary transcript at Forever Dreaming. The line names no property, address, set, or homeowner, so it is not production documentation.
