POP MART says sought-after products may sell out within seconds and that it cannot always give a specific restock date. Why Labubu can be hard to find
Demand can outpace available stock during a popular release or restock. POP MART’s U.S. FAQ says some popular products may sell out within seconds of returning to stock and that the company may not have a specific restock date. That describes the uncertainty shoppers may encounter; it does not establish that every Labubu series is sold out now. Read POP MART’s U.S. FAQ.
Labubu was created by artist and illustrator Kasing Lung and appeared in picture books in 2015. Lung partnered with POP MART to sell Labubu figures in 2019. The character’s visibility broadened after POP MART introduced plush toys on key rings in 2023. Associated Press connected the surge in attention to celebrity exposure—including Blackpink’s Lisa posting Labubu images—and the appeal of collectible blind boxes. Associated Press on Labubu’s rise and demand.
AP’s 2025 coverage documented long lines, resale markups and supply pressure, as well as POP MART’s reported efforts to expand production and distribution. Those are observations from that period, not a live inventory report. Whether a particular release is available depends on the current listing and market.

Where to look for a Labubu
Start with POP MART’s official channels
Check the official POP MART website or app for your country and the specific series you want. POP MART also identifies its official stores and ROBOSHOP vending machines as channels for authentic, verifiable products. Store and machine availability varies, so confirm that a location is officially operated in your market. The U.S. FAQ recommends subscribing to “NOTIFY ME WHEN AVAILABLE” on a product listing when that option appears.
A notification is an update, not a reservation. POP MART warns that popular products can sell out quickly, and it does not promise that an alert will arrive in time to complete a purchase.
Understand what the listing actually sells
A blind box conceals which character is inside. POP MART says buyers cannot request a particular figure through a blind-box listing, and a secret edition is chance-based unless the series is expressly sold as including one. If you need a specific character, check whether the listing is for a known figure rather than a blind box; do not assume the box contents can be chosen.
For example, POP MART lists the THE MONSTERS Big into Energy Series—Vinyl Plush Pendant Blind Box with an April 25, 2025 release date, a height of 17 cm excluding the hanging loop, and a PVC/polyester shell with polyester and iron-wire stuffing. The listing says it is not suitable for people under 15. These are product details, not evidence of current stock. See POP MART’s product listing.

How to assess a third-party listing
If you shop outside POP MART’s official channels, consider the seller, the total cost and whether the item can be verified. A low price is not proof of a bargain: the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises buyers to know their seller, check authenticity markers and be wary of deep discounts. AP reported resale markups during the 2025 rush, but that does not make every high-priced listing genuine or every resale seller unreliable.
- Identify the seller. Check who is actually selling the item, not only the name of the marketplace hosting the listing.
- Compare the total price. Account for shipping and any markup, and compare like with like: the same series, condition and type of sale.
- Check whether it is a blind box. A sealed blind box does not let you select a specific character.
- Look for verification options. POP MART’s FAQ says to enter the number on the holographic label at its official authenticity verification site when that label is available.
- Read safety information. Check age guidance and small-parts warnings, especially if the item is for a child.
POP MART’s authenticity instructions are the practical next step when a holographic label is present: use the label’s verification number on the official site. A visual feature by itself should not be treated as conclusive proof of authenticity. POP MART FAQ and authenticity guidance.

In an August 18, 2025 alert, the CPSC described features associated with authentic Pop Mart Labubu dolls: a holographic Pop Mart sticker and a QR code linking to POP MART’s official site; newer editions may also have a subtle UV stamp on one foot. The agency said authentic dolls have nine teeth and warned that fakes may have overly bright colors or the wrong number of teeth. Treat these as checks to support verification, not a single-feature test. CPSC alert on counterfeit Labubu dolls.
Australia’s consumer regulator, the ACCC, has warned about counterfeit “Lafufu” dolls. It says some may fit entirely in a young child’s mouth, while others may have detachable eyes, feet or hands and poor stitching that can create choking hazards. The ACCC also cited reports raising concerns about harmful chemical levels, such as lead; that is a reported concern, not a finding that every counterfeit has been tested or contains such chemicals. POP MART’s Big into Energy pendant listing says the product is not suitable for people under 15. That specific age notice should not be generalized to every Labubu product; check the label and listing for the item you are considering.
What shortage reports can—and cannot—tell you
Labubu’s popularity has had measurable business and retail effects, but market figures do not reveal the stock status of a particular figure. AP reported that POP MART’s 2024 revenue was 13.04 billion yuan (about $1.81 billion), more than double its 2023 revenue, partly due to Labubu. Plush-toy revenue grew by more than 1,200% in 2024 and made up nearly 22% of overall revenue, according to the company figures AP reported. These figures put the collectible boom in context; they are not Labubu inventory counts.
Likewise, AP reported Circana data showing U.S. adult toy sales rose 12% year over year in the first quarter of 2025, when adults spent $1.8 billion on toys. Circana also found that buyers aged 18 and older accounted for more than $800 million of the U.S. toy market’s year-over-year increase in 2024. These broader U.S. market measures do not predict whether a specific Labubu will be in stock in your area.
