The group’s song “Golden,” however, became a real-world hit: Netflix reports it spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 18 weeks atop the Billboard Global 200. The voices behind HUNTR/X are real singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami.
Is HUNTR/X a real band?
No. HUNTR/X is a fictional group in KPop Demon Hunters, which premiered on Netflix on June 20, 2025. The trio’s singing voices are performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. EJAE also co-wrote “Golden” and sings for Rumi, the character whose identity and difficult high note become central to the story. Netflix Tudum’s oral history of “Golden” details how the song and its performers came together; Netflix lists the film’s release date in its film guide.
How high did “Golden” chart?
Netflix’s 2026 anniversary report says “Golden” spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the US singles chart, and 18 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. Netflix says that Global 200 run tied the record for the longest time at the top of that chart. These are separate chart measures, not a single combined ranking. Netflix’s anniversary report provides the figures.
What do the streaming numbers measure?
Netflix reported that in 2025 “Golden” drew 2.430 billion global on-demand audio streams and 1.146 billion global on-demand video streams. Those are distinct audio and video measures; they should not be added together or treated as one stream total. The figures appear in Netflix’s February 4, 2026 report.

The success also reached beyond the single. Netflix reported that the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack passed 15 billion worldwide streams and spent two weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 Albums chart. It also said “Soda Pop,” by fictional rival group Saja Boys, reached No. 3 on the Hot 100, while songs from HUNTR/X and Saja Boys surpassed one billion streams across Spotify and YouTube. Those album, song, and platform figures describe different accomplishments. Netflix’s 2026 anniversary report is the source for these totals.
Why does “Golden” matter in the film?
“Golden” is more than a performance sequence: it advances the plot and gives the three members’ private struggles a shared musical frame. Netflix describes it as HUNTR/X’s emotional mission statement and as the engine behind the Golden Honmoon. The song introduces Rumi’s half-demon identity, while its challenging high note becomes part of the story.

EJAE recalled the team’s expectations this way: “To us, it was a hit, but we didn’t think it could get this far.” Her comment is a reflection on how far the song traveled, not an explanation of chart mechanics. Netflix Tudum’s oral history covers the song’s role and the performers’ account.
