The eight names below are a likely match for this headline, not a confirmed original list: the exact-title source could not be identified, and the available countdown calls them guests who became famous, not uniformly infamous. Their stories range from viral controversy to survival and advocacy, so “infamous” does not fit every person.

Why this list needs a qualification

A WatchMojo countdown, “Top 10 Dr. Phil Guests Who Got Famous After the Show,” is the available basis for these eight names. It is a secondary source, and its framing is broader than infamy. The order below follows its reverse countdown, from #8 to #1; it should not be read as a verified reconstruction of an article with the exact assigned headline.

The daytime Dr. Phil program began in September 2002. In February 2023, The Washington Post reported that its original run was ending after 21 seasons, with original episodes scheduled through the 2022–2023 season and reruns afterward. The Washington Post’s report provides that timeline.

The eight guests and their paths to attention

8. Nadya Suleman, known as “Octomom”

WatchMojo connects Suleman’s public scrutiny to the birth of her octuplets while she was already raising six children. That public event made her a familiar name; it is not a reason to adopt the source’s judgmental framing or to speculate about her parenting.

7. Telly Zelly, also called Chantelly

The countdown says she appeared with her mother after leaving school to pursue music and later released music. The source’s spelling of a song title appears uncertain, so it is better not to repeat it as fact.

6. Michelle Knight, later Lily Rose Lee

Knight survived Ariel Castro’s kidnappings and later became an advocate for others. WatchMojo also reports that she wrote two books about her experience but does not identify their titles. Her story is not well described by “infamous”: survival, advocacy and public sympathy are distinct from attention driven by controversy.

5. Naya Tuiasosopo

WatchMojo links Tuiasosopo to the false online persona Lennay Kekua and the story involving Manti Te’o. It also reports that she later appeared in Netflix’s Untold: The Girlfriend Who Didn’t Exist. The account can be described without turning a complex episode into a sensational label.

4. Jessy Taylor

The countdown says Taylor appeared after a viral reaction to losing an Instagram account. Its account of her motivations and later social-media activity is not independently established here, so it should be treated as the list source’s reporting rather than a current profile.

3. Nicolette Gray

Gray’s episode focused on an allowance dispute. The “Beverly Hills brat” label was attributed to her mother in the source; it is not a neutral description to use as the article’s own voice.

2. Ava Louise

WatchMojo connects Louise’s public profile to a viral video of her licking a toilet during the early COVID-19 period and a later appearance on Dr. Phil. That is the extent of what the reviewed source establishes; it does not establish her current activity.

1. Danielle Bregoli, known as Bhad Bhabie

Bregoli’s “Catch me outside, how about that?” line is the clearest example in this group of a moment on the show helping translate into broader recognition. The Washington Post described the 2016 catchphrase as viral and as helping launch her internet-personality and rap career. That is a more specific link between an appearance and later fame than the list establishes for the other guests.

Fame after an episode did not mean the same thing for everyone

These cases fall into different broad patterns: a viral catchphrase for Bregoli; newsworthy events already drawing attention for Suleman, Knight and Tuiasosopo; and social-media personas or episode clips for Taylor, Gray, Louise and Telly Zelly. This is a way to organize the examples, not proof that the show caused each person’s later profile. In particular, Knight’s later advocacy and public sympathy resist the “infamous” label.

The show’s own biography says it provided more than $35 million in guest resources after appearances, and lists 31 Emmy nominations and five PRISM Awards. Those are claims on the official Dr. Phil biography page; the page does not date the figures, and they should not be treated as independently audited totals.

What has been reported about the show’s handling of guests

Investigative reporting raised allegations about how the program handled some guests seeking help with addiction. A show representative disputed those allegations. The allegations and denial belong together; they do not establish how every guest was treated. The investigation and the show’s response address that dispute.

In a 2021 interview reported by The Washington Post, Shelley Duvall said of her experience, “I found out the kind of person he is the hard way.” The quote is her characterization of her experience, not evidence about every guest’s appearance. The interview report gives its context.
