Tom’s Guide’s November 12, 2025 watchlist counted 79 new English-language Netflix original series released that year and singled out seven as worth watching. The count and selection belong to that dated article: its counting method is not stated, and its picks are an unranked editorial shortlist—not an objective ranking or a current 2026 tally. Here’s how the shows differ, so you can choose by genre, mood, and viewing commitment.

Which one should you watch?
For a formally distinctive, emotionally intense drama: Adolescence
Thirteen-year-old Jamie Miller is arrested for a classmate’s murder, setting the story amid the effects on his family and the investigation. Netflix describes the series as four parts and notes that every episode was filmed as a continuous shot. The technique makes each installment feel immediate, while the story examines pressures on boys and young men. Co-creator and star Stephen Graham told Netflix Tudum: “One of our aims was to ask, ‘What is happening to our young men these days, and what are the pressures they face from their peers, from the internet, and from social media?’” Netflix Tudum reports that the series won eight 2025 Emmy Awards.
Choose it for concentrated drama, strong performances, and a production approach that is part of the experience—not for a light background binge. Netflix Tudum’s series details and awards coverage.
