The Season 22 sneak peek shows Alden Parker asking the team how they plan to spend Christmas: Jessica Knight intends to see her father, Timothy McGee is looking forward to relaxing with his family, and Nick Torres plans to celebrate with Jimmy Palmer and Jimmy’s daughter, Victoria. Torres even sounds ready to go caroling. These are the characters’ plans in the story, not the actors’ personal holiday plans.
What are the team’s Christmas plans?
In the preview, Parker asks his colleagues about their holiday plans. Their answers give the scene its warm, personal tone:
- Jessica Knight: plans to spend time with her father.
- Timothy McGee: has a relaxing stretch with his family in mind.
- Nick Torres: plans to spend Christmas with Jimmy Palmer and Victoria, Jimmy’s daughter. The preview jokes that Torres is ready to go caroling.
CarterMatt’s December 14, 2024 preview presents the exchange as a look at the team’s holiday plans. CarterMatt also describes “Humbug” as the first Christmas episode since Gary Cole’s debut as Alden Parker; that is the outlet’s framing.
Which episode does the sneak peek preview?
The scene is from “Humbug,” NCIS Season 22, Episode 9. CBS lists the episode’s air date as December 16, 2024. The holiday conversation is only one part of the story: the official synopsis says a shocking tell-all threatens a decorated Marine’s Christmas and legacy, and the team must uncover the truth before the book causes a holiday disaster. See the CBS Season 22 episode guide for the listing and synopsis.

How McGee’s Deep Six novels fit the story
The tell-all plot connects with McGee’s fictional writing career. In a December 13, 2024 interview with TV Insider, executive producer Steven D. Binder said the episode would tease a forthcoming third Deep Six novel by McGee, who writes under the pen name Thom E. Gemcity. The novel is a story element in the series, not a real book identified as available to buy.
Binder also said McGee becomes suspicious of Deputy Director LaRoche, who is assigned to work with the team for a while. Binder described the episode as “a pretty heartfelt holiday story involving wounded veterans.” These comments appear in the TV Insider interview.
