Baahubali: The Epic is a 2025 single-film re-edit of S. S. Rajamouli’s two-part Baahubali saga—not a new sequel. It brings the earlier story together as one feature, with remastered picture and sound and, according to US distributor Variance Films, a few new surprises.
What is Baahubali: The Epic?
It is a combined, re-edited presentation of the earlier two films, reshaped into one feature by director S. S. Rajamouli. Variance Films describes the story as following a lost prince raised in exile who learns his history and returns to reclaim his place as king. Its description promises remastered picture and sound, plus “a few new surprises,” but does not characterize the film as a sequel.

The distributor lists Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, and Nassar among the cast. Variance Films’ release page lists Telugu and Hindi versions, both with English subtitles.
Why does it feel like one battle after another?
The combined feature follows a sweeping royal story through inheritance, revenge, kingship, and war. Bringing the two-film narrative into one theatrical presentation makes the saga feel continuous: revelations about the prince’s past lead into the struggle over the throne and its battles. That framing describes the shape of the story, not a claim that every scene is new.

How long is the film?
There is no single runtime figure that applies to every territory or version. The published records give slightly different figures, so use the one tied to the edition or authority you are checking.
| Record | Listed length | What it describes |
|---|---|---|
| TWIN Co., Ltd. (Japan, 2026) | 225 minutes | Japanese Blu-ray feature listing |
| British Board of Film Classification (UK, 2025) | Approximately 224 minutes | Film record |
| British Board of Film Classification (UK, 2025) | 223 minutes, 53 seconds | Listed home-entertainment version |
| Central Board of Film Certification (India, 2025) | 225.0 metres | Certified length for the Telugu record; metres are not a runtime in minutes |
Which language and version should you look for?
Available versions and subtitles depend on territory. Variance Films’ US page lists Telugu and Hindi editions with English subtitles. Japan’s TWIN listing describes the original Telugu audio, other audio options, a Japanese dub, and Japanese subtitles. Check the specific cinema or home-video listing rather than assuming one language setup is available everywhere.

TWIN catalogs a Japanese two-disc Blu-ray, catalog number TWBS-5486. Its feature disc is listed as 1920×1080p, scope, with 5.1-channel audio; the second disc contains approximately 105 minutes of bonus video, including event footage and trailers. The catalog lists a June 3, 2026 release date. These details describe that Japanese edition, not every home-video release.
The BBFC also has a UK classification record for a Hindi VOD/streaming version, dated December 23, 2025, with Netflix, Inc. named as distributor. That record establishes a classification, not that the film is currently available on Netflix in every country. Check the current catalog in your territory.

The official title site displays “in theaters October 31,” but the page captured for this listing does not specify a year. Variance Films presents the Telugu and Hindi versions in a theatrical context. TWIN lists a limited two-week Japanese theatrical release beginning December 12, 2025, followed by the Japanese Blu-ray release listed for June 3, 2026.
For India, the CBFC record is specific to the Telugu film: it was certified UA 16+ by the Hyderabad regional office on October 16, 2025. That is an Indian certification for that record, not a universal age rating. The CBFC listing also records the certified length in metres.
Is the theatrical version different from the Blu-ray?
The theatrical release emphasizes a shared big-screen presentation; the documented Japanese Blu-ray offers a 1080p, scope-format feature with 5.1-channel audio and a separate bonus disc. Those are concrete differences in presentation and extras, but the available listings do not establish a shot-by-shot comparison between the theatrical and Blu-ray versions. The Blu-ray’s audio, subtitles, and regional compatibility should be checked against the player and listing before purchase.
