The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is a Netflix animated fantasy film adapted from Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story “A Little Sacrifice.” It follows Geralt of Rivia as a monster investigation in a seaside village pulls him into a conflict between humans and merpeople.
What is The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep about?
Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate attacks in a seaside village. The case draws him into a centuries-old struggle between humans and merpeople, with the threat of war between the kingdoms. He must work with old and new allies to try to stop the hostilities from escalating. Netflix’s official logline frames the danger as a war between land and sea.

What story is the film based on?
The film adapts Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher short story “A Little Sacrifice,” which appears in the collection The Sword of Destiny. That makes Sirens of the Deep a screen adaptation of an existing story, rather than a wholly new Witcher plot. The available official descriptions establish the connection but do not claim the movie is a scene-for-scene or exact adaptation. Netflix Tudum identifies the source story.
Who voices Geralt, and who made the animation?
Doug Cockle returns as the voice of Geralt. Netflix’s announcement quotes Cockle: “I am super excited to announce my return to the world of The Witcher voicing Geralt of Rivia once again.” Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra are also among the cast listed on Netflix’s title page. The animation studio is Studio MIR, whose other credits cited by Tudum include The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.
