Spoilers ahead for “Au Revoir Les Enfants,” the Season 2 finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol. In Season 2, Episode 6, Ash and Laurent escape France by plane, while Daryl and Carol are left behind and turn toward Spain. The episode aired November 3, 2024, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
What happens in “Au Revoir Les Enfants”?
Daryl gives Laurent a repaired guitar as the group prepares to leave. Believing Ash’s plane cannot carry everyone, Daryl plans to stay in France so Laurent can go. He reassures the boy that they will meet again, but the plan is thrown into danger when Jacinta’s forces pursue them.

Anna, who had been pressured into helping the attackers, changes sides and leads them into a mass of walkers. She dies in the attack. At the improvised airfield, Daryl and Carol exchange a look as the plane prepares to depart. Carol then jumps from the aircraft to shoot the driver of a jeep moving toward Ash and Laurent. Ash and Laurent get away by air; Daryl and Carol remain on the ground.
What happens to Jacinta and the group’s route out?
Jacinta dies by suicide rather than wait to turn. Fallou introduces Daryl, Carol, and Codron to Angus and Fiona, a Scottish couple who offer to guide them toward England. Fallou stays behind with Akila while the others set out.

What do the characters see in the tunnel?
In the tunnel, bat guano causes hallucinations. Codron sees his dead brother Michel, Carol sees Sophia, and Daryl sees distorted walkers. Angus and Fiona try to take the group’s only two gas masks; they are killed during the confrontation.
Afterward, Codron runs after the vision of Michel. Daryl sees Isabelle, whose appearance serves as a reminder to keep hoping. The scene is a hallucination, not evidence that Isabelle has physically returned.
Where are Daryl and Carol going at the end?
With few of their Paris allies left and the route to England compromised, Daryl and Carol decide to head home together. TVLine identifies their destination as Spain. The finale closes their immediate story in France without separating them: Ash and Laurent have escaped by plane, while Daryl and Carol begin the next leg on foot with a new route to find.
