Simon Cowell has been linked in dated reporting to a Bugatti Veyron, Rolls-Royce Phantom models, Ferraris, Bentleys and Jaguars. The newest specific car report is from 2023: a custom electric David Brown Automotive Mini eMastered that Cowell said he planned to keep. These reports document cars associated with him at different times—not a verified list of what he owns today.

What the record can—and can’t—tell us

There is no verified public inventory or reliable count of Cowell’s cars for 2026. The named-car reports largely date from 2009 to 2012, while the latest specific vehicle report is the Evening Standard’s 4 October 2023 article about his electric Mini. That article quotes Cowell saying he had owned many cars but generally sold them, and that he would keep the Mini. The distinction matters: a car once reported as his is not evidence that he still owns it.

Vehicle Reported period and details What the reporting establishes
Bugatti Veyron GQ’s 2011 profile described Cowell’s black Bugatti as a $1.7 million car. The Standard reported seeing him driving a Veyron in Los Angeles in 2012; its 2009 garage account gave a reported price of £750,000. Several dated reports make this one of the strongest examples of a car associated with him. The quoted prices are historical reporting, not current valuations. GQ (2011); The Standard (2009); The Standard (2012)
Rolls-Royce Phantom variants The Standard’s 2009 account described a Phantom Drophead Coupe with cream leather and piano wood trim, then reported at £400,000. A 2011 Guardian interview described Cowell’s “famous Rolls-Royce Phantom stretch” with extra stretch built in. The accounts may concern different cars or configurations; they do not establish one vehicle matching both descriptions. The price is historical. The Standard (2009); The Guardian (2011)
Ferrari F430 Spider and Ferrari The Standard’s historical garage coverage names an F430 Spider; its 2012 report refers more generally to a Ferrari in Cowell’s reported fleet. The reports support a historical association, not current ownership. The Standard (2009); The Standard (2012)
Bentley Azure and Bentley convertible The Independent listed a Bentley Azure in a 2009 profile. The Standard’s historical garage report mentioned a Bentley convertible. The reports do not establish that these descriptions refer to the same car. The Independent (2009); The Standard (2009)
Jaguars and other reported cars The Standard named an antique Jaguar. MoneyWeek’s 2009 profile listed a Jaguar XKR, Aston Martin DB9 and Mini Cooper. These are snapshots from historical profiles, not a complete or stable inventory. The Standard (2009); MoneyWeek (2009)

The 2023 electric Mini he said he would keep

On 4 October 2023, the Evening Standard reported that Cowell had become one of the first owners of a David Brown Automotive Mini eMastered, a modern electric conversion of the classic Mini. The paper said the exterior drew inspiration from the Lotus Esprit in A View to a Kill, while the interior took inspiration from Cowell’s Rolls-Royce.

The Standard published these figures for the car: a 96 bhp motor, a limited top speed of 92 mph, an 18.8 kWh battery and a predicted range of around 110 miles. The range is a prediction reported by the newspaper, not an independently tested result. These specifications are for Cowell’s reported custom car and should not be treated as independently verified measurements.

Cowell told the Standard: “I’ve never really kept cars, I don’t have a collection. I’ve had a lot of cars but I’ve always sold them. This one I will always, always keep.” His comment explains why the familiar “car collection” label can mislead: he described a history of changing cars rather than a permanent fleet, with the Mini as an exception at that time. The 2023 statement is not confirmation of ownership in 2026. Evening Standard (4 October 2023)

Why the Rolls-Royce mattered to him

In a 2012 report, the Standard quoted Cowell praising his Rolls-Royce after an interview with Top Gear: “It’s the most beautiful, most comfortable, best-engineered car ever built. I can hardly bring myself to say it but it’s – oh, sod it! – perfect.” That is Cowell’s reported personal enthusiasm, not an independent engineering assessment. The Standard (2012)

How to read “Simon Cowell’s car collection” lists

  • Check the date: many widely repeated lists draw on profiles from 2009–2012.
  • Separate a specific model from a broad reference. A named F430 Spider, for instance, is more precise than a report that mentions only a Ferrari.
  • Do not combine similar descriptions into a single confirmed car. The Phantom Drophead Coupe and stretched Phantom reports may refer to different vehicles.
  • Treat quoted prices as period figures. The 2009 Veyron and Phantom amounts are not estimates of present value.
  • Distinguish historical association from current ownership. The 2023 Mini story is the most recent specific vehicle report here, but does not verify Cowell’s present-day garage.
