Jurassic Park tops the ranking of Steven Spielberg-directed films by nominal worldwide theatrical gross, with $1,103,136,084 listed by the Steven Spielberg filmography page accessed in 2026. The ranking below uses that page’s figures consistently, including its recorded rereleases; it is not adjusted for inflation.
Spielberg’s highest-grossing movies
These are the ten highest entries in the filmography page’s worldwide-gross comparison, ordered by the amounts shown there. The figures are nominal U.S. dollars and include the release history recorded by that page. They are published tracker totals, not independently audited receipts.

Source for every amount in the table: the Steven Spielberg filmography page, accessed in 2026. The ranking covers films Spielberg directed, not every movie associated with him as a producer. For example, the filmography identifies James Mangold as the director of 2023’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, so it is not included.
Why box-office totals differ between trackers
A worldwide gross is not a single permanent figure shared by every box-office database. Trackers may record release groups and rereleases differently, or aggregate them on different schedules. That matters especially for films with long theatrical lives: Box Office Mojo itemizes the original Jurassic Park run and later rereleases, while The Numbers publishes its own accumulated title total.

#1 Best Overall
The difference is visible in the reported totals. The filmography page lists Jurassic Park at $1,103,136,084; The Numbers lists $1,058,454,230. For Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the respective figures are $786,636,033 and $786,635,413. These are source-specific totals accessed in 2026, not interchangeable values. The ranking therefore keeps one provider’s numbers together rather than mixing figures to make a supposedly definitive list.
The filmography page’s Jaws total is $490,736,300; The Numbers’ Jaws franchise table lists $497,900,923. Using that latter figure only for Jaws while retaining the filmography page’s totals for other films would create a mixed-source ranking and could alter the order.

What this ranking does—and does not—measure
Worldwide, not domestic
The table compares worldwide theatrical grosses. Domestic gross covers a different market, so a domestic figure should not be substituted into this list. The ranking also does not measure streaming views, home-video sales, profit, or ticket admissions.
Nominal dollars, not inflation-adjusted earnings
Each amount is a nominal gross: it is not adjusted for inflation. A domestic inflation-adjusted figure cannot be directly compared with these worldwide nominal totals. A consistent worldwide adjustment would need a method that handles ticket prices, currencies, and territories across different eras; no such calculation is established here.

Later theatrical engagements may add to a film’s accumulated gross. The Numbers lists rerelease dates for Jurassic Park, and Box Office Mojo breaks its releases into groups. A ranking can therefore change when a tracker adds or aggregates release data, even though the original film and its release year have not changed.
