For U.S. viewers, the clearest current chart snapshot checked October 8, 2026, puts Netflix’s East of Eden at No. 1, followed by HBO Max’s Lanterns and Apple TV’s Ted Lasso. That is a dated JustWatch user-activity ranking—not a definitive count of viewing hours across every streaming service. New this week: Carrie and Below arrived as full-season releases, while NCIS: New York and Eternally Yours began on CBS.
What are the biggest TV shows in the U.S. this week?
JustWatch’s U.S. TV chart, checked October 8, 2026, ranks titles based on user activity. Its top nine were:
| Rank | Show | Service listed |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | East of Eden | Netflix |
| 2 | Lanterns | HBO Max |
| 3 | Ted Lasso | Apple TV |
| 4 | War | HBO Max |
| 5 | Slow Horses | Apple TV |
| 6 | American Horror Story | Hulu among listed services |
| 7 | MobLand | Paramount+ among listed services |
| 8 | Carrie | Prime Video |
| 9 | Lioness | Paramount+ among listed services |
JustWatch describes its chart as drawing on actions such as clicking a streaming offer, adding a show to a watchlist, or marking it as seen. Users can view activity over 24-hour, 7-day, or 30-day periods; the chart updates daily. It is therefore a signal of interest on JustWatch, not an audited ranking of total viewing hours or subscriber counts. See the JustWatch U.S. TV chart and its chart methodology.
Service availability can shift, and a chart listing is not a guarantee that a title is currently streamable in every account or location. Check the service listing before settling on a show.

What is trending on Netflix, Prime Video, and other services?
Netflix
East of Eden led JustWatch’s October 8 U.S. TV chart. Netflix also released all six episodes of Below on October 8 at 3 a.m. ET. Tom’s Guide describes the series as a seaside creature thriller starring Josh Hartnett. The chart placing and the new-release date are different kinds of evidence: one tracks JustWatch user activity, while the other identifies when episodes became available.
Prime Video
Carrie ranked No. 8 on the same JustWatch chart after all eight episodes of the new Stephen King adaptation arrived on Prime Video October 7 at 3 a.m. ET. Its chart position makes it the week’s clearest link between a new full-season release and a current U.S. chart listing.

- Say goodbye to batteries: Keep your remote powered for months on a single charge.
HBO Max
Lanterns stood at No. 2 and War at No. 4. Those positions reflect the October 8 JustWatch snapshot, not a platform-reported viewership total.
Apple TV
Ted Lasso ranked No. 3, with Slow Horses at No. 5 in the JustWatch snapshot.
